Thank you all ! Very appreciated.
I'm a budget traveler. Do you think it'll be safe to stay at a hostel in the city (Managua), and when booking the hostel ask the hostel to send a taxi waiting for me at the airport when i arrive?
I prefer not to stay at a hotel next to the airport..

I’ll be traveling with a group of families (15-20 people) next summer, and would like to find hotel or resort on the beach which can accomodate all of us. We’d prefer to find something on the quieter side if possible, so if we can avoid the beaches in central Da Nang, that would be nice. Angsana Lang Co and Son Tra Resort look nice and within our budget (less than $200).
Any other suggestions?

Hello,
We are planning to visit the Baliem Valley and afterwards do some 5 to 8 day trekking in August next year. As this is a busy time, I guess it would be a bad idea to just show up in Wamena without have made some arangements. I saw mixed reports about guides and tour agencies, therefore I could really use some advise on reliable contacts, etineraries, places to visit, how much to pay in advance, etc. Is there an interesting alterative to the Baliem Festival in July or August? We are not really on a tight budget.
Thank you very much!
The bungalows run from 400 Bht. to 1,500 Bht either on the beach or back from the beach depending on how nice they are. There is really not much farther back from the beach, about one hundred or so meters back is a lagoon. There is one wooden bridge leading to one resort, across the lagoon, about a dozen, 400 bht wooden, bungalows, upgraded from bamboo last time I was here. They have a restaurant and a nicely decorated sitting area in hippy typestyle. The kind of place I liked as a younger man. Now as an older man with an ever-enlarging prostate and ever-shrinking bladder the lack of a toilet in the bungalows is not an option. I think these prices are good value compared to the Southern beaches. No loud music and no major party vibe. I think I'm at the best place on the beach, 400 Bht, no air, toilet, little balcony at the far western end of the beach, meaning no foot traffic going by. The place does not have a name. It is a rectangular building divided into 4 units. The one on the East end is a store and lobby, the other three are rooms, looking from the outside like a small western style motel. If you arrive at Klong Koi the taxi or songtow will let you off at the western end of the beach at a short narrow concrete bridge over a creek. After crossing the bridge it is the first building on the right. This is the back of the building and may not look like bungalows, as technically they are not. The place is run by an extended Thai family involved in numerous ventures on the beach, so you may have to look around to find management. I like to come here to relax and save some money, less temptations. I stand by my previous statement, it's the #1 beach in Thailand right now, but getting here is a pain.

hard to recommend without some idea of what you want to do, where you want to go and a budget
the PNG TPA has a good list of specialist agents
https://www.papuanewguinea.travel/WantokSpecialists
otherwise here and tripadvisor have lots more information
my advice is to make sure your agent has been to PNG (many have not !!)and is truly organising or at least
is very close to its sub-contractors - too often the chain of money and information flow is too stretched
and things go wrong
TIP Time- Always good to scan and store a photo of your Passport and Drivers License/ID, and keep on your EMail and send to trusted Loved ones. This way when going Embassy/Authorities, you have all the info to make things faster verifying your identity.
Travel Insurance is also a nice bonus, if in the budget.
Dear travellers
I've only recently heard about Sao Tome and how little visited it is. As a solo, budget traveller, the idea of being only one of a handful when I travel, appeals to me big time. However I will have to wait for next year to go. I was thinking on staying 2 weeks and maybe another week in between Lisbon and Porto as I ll be flying from Europe via Lisbon. Do you think this is enough time?
Also, is the flight to Principe expensive? I read about these two treks and I don't understand why they cost so much? I mean, is it because one would need a guide and for what else is the expense?!
About the time of year, when is it better for hiking and photography in between September and November? I read that it rains less in September but the colours are better in November, is that right?
Thanking you
