There is no bungalows on the beach, but there are great bungalows next to beach and entrance to park, which is the beach you use, as the beach off town you can't swim.

The Alby Lodge is the best thatched roof open air bungalows on the entire coast. A great value, share kitchen, lovely property. The other option would be north of town in Playa Negra, a darker sand beach and ways to the town and the park. There are nice cabinas/villas, can't remember the name of them.

Why are you staying there 5 nights, thats 3 nights too many? Head down to beaches south of Pt Viejo, lost of great places off the road there, rent a house on Airbnb. Cahuita is 1 night for most, to hike the park for a 1/2 day....

Cahuita is a very small town, not lot of to do...Pt Viejo has a far more vibrant scene and nightlife/care/food options are endless. The beaches south of town are lovely and just rent bicycles.

Hello! I am traveling to Colombia in a few months to build a library! I have my own non-profit that has built 3 libraries in the past. www.libraries4all.com

I am hoping to source the books in Bogota, Colombia but I need to budget for the cost. The cheapest option is best (so second-hand or used books). Also, I will be buying in large quantity if that changes things. And for the type of books, I will be buying everything from children to adult.

So, my questions:
how much money (approx) per used book should I budget for?
and
Where would you suggest to go for buying these books?

Thank you!!!!

If you're on a tight backpackers budget neither.

It's going to cost you a fair bit of money and travel time.

Italo Rome to Naples starts IIRC at €10 or €9 without a sale. Factor in the sales and it can be a couple € cheaper

Hi everyone, I have 60 days to spend in Indonesia, islands of Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa. Flying into Denpasar in mid-Feb, going straight to Ubud (skipping South Bali). Basing myself in Ubud for 1-2 weeks, and going around the North and East coasts, then catching a boat to the 3 Nusa's, and then the 3 Gilis, Lombok and then a boat to Sumbawa, overland to Bima, and flying out back to Lombok or Denpasar. And then flying out of Indonesia before the 60 day expiry.

  • Ubud (1 week)
  • North Bali/East Bali (1 week)
  • Nusa (The 3 Nusas) (1 week)
  • Gili (The 3 Gilis) (1 week)
  • Lombok island (1 week)
  • Sumbawa (1 week)
  • Extra time (2 weeks)

My traveling style is extra tight budget, not interested in activities or attractions, just relaxation, massage, gastronomy, exercise, languages, etc..

My question is should I include Sumbawa at the end or not? Thanks

Thank you! This is was very helpful and a good option for organized tours. Do you know if it's possible to rent kayaks/canoes and explore the lake on our own? we would really like to be able to enjoy the area, the lake, and its history. So the speedboats etc. are a bit too "wild" for us. We are also traveling on a budget.

Hello everyone!

Once again, a question on Japan.

My brother and I have always wanted to experience some Japanese powder. But we always thought this would be too expensive coming all the way from Italy.

I want to make sure if that is really true(and give up for good on the idea), or if there is a way to go there within our budget.

So, has anyone done it? What's the best way to organise it? What's a realistic budget? What are some tips?

I know this is very broad, but wanted to try.

Thank you
Michel

But Ngea I also mentioned accommodation at one of the best beaches which wasn't cheap. Many of the past threads about Ko Kood do ask for cheaper options and the poster did mention Klong Chao in opening post.
Could you clarify that at Klongchao most of the accomm is still set back a bit from the beach and there not much in the way of beachside bungalows or chalets ?

How many days do you have total?

What is your budget per night in USD for lodging?

Do you Scuba Dive? If so, what level is your PADI certification?

Have you looked at a Guidebook?

Afterward I will fly to Cape town.
