1317 results for solo female in thailand

Hello. I'm currently planning a trip in Thailand and wonder if there is a reliable (safe for solo female travelers where my bag won't get stolen) night bus from Phuket to Ayutthaya? I might not be able to fly to Bangkok then take the bus because I will probably be diving in Phuket that day.

Then I was thinking full day in Ayutthaya, spend one night, next day full(ish) day before taking the night train to Chiang Mai.

Would this be reasonable? I don't want to be miserable, but do want to make the most of my time in Thailand.

I will be traveling Thailand from 21st July to 26th July 2017. On 21st I will head to Bangkok from Dhaka and on the same day i will go to Krabi, I will stay on that night and will be heading to Koh Samui on the next day. Will stay for two nights and will be back to Bangkok and will stay till 26th. Any suggestions, any tips and any recommendations will help me a lot. I'm a first time Traveller and most surprising is that I'm traveling solo.

Hi, All! What is the current state of safety in Cairo and the Giza Necropolis? I (solo female) may extend a trip to include a week in Egypt. I realize it is impossible to make predictions about what the situation will be like in 6 months, but it will help to know what it is like now.

You'll be fine. I just visited Myanmar as a solo female traveler and have actually never felt safer anywhere.

You won't be allowed to go anywhere near the fighting. The government does not allow visitors to go to certain areas.

I actually wrote a blog entry about what it was like to be there during the Rohingya crisis: https://soloworldwanderer.org/2017/09/14/traveling-in-myanmar-during-the-rohingya-crisis/

Hi everyone!

I'm 25 y/o female planning to travel to Thailand with a friend, followed by about 2 weeks solo travel (probably extending it to 3) in Cambodia (main sights in PP & temples in SR) and on Bali. I'm still working this part out, as it is rather rushed (right now about 6 days in Cambodia, rest in Bali) and I want to make sure I do a country justice even though I'll stay there a long time. Anyway, that's something I'm still working on and might come back to this in a new thread later on.

For now, I have a question regarding travelling responsibly in Cambodia. I'm fully aware it is a poor country, and tipping responsibly for example is therefore often a good idea. I also read up on wildlife sanctuaries that offer more expensive tours of which the proceeds go back to the animals, and specific restaurants that train at-risk youth or do some vocational training.

I want to make sure that, even though I travel on a budget, I do as much 'good' as I can during my time in Cambodia and spend responsibly and wisely. Would anyone have any recommendations or things to keep in mind to do so? For example, use (or don't use) services of certain companies, book certain tours, what certifications to look out for when it comes to blind massages, certain restaurants or shops in either PP or SR, etc.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this topic :) Thank you!

Hi Everyone. i will be traveling to Thailand from 20-30 November. Previously i had decided to go to bangkok pattaya and phuket. Recently i am a bit confused because of different suggestions from people that chiang mai is a better place to visit rather than phuket. i am a solo traveler and i want to see a bit of everything. Can anyone guide me as to what the better choice would be. i plan on staying in bangkok and pattaya 3 days each so i have 3 days to spare. I would also like to attend active nightlife. Which place do you guys recommend? Any Suggestions will be greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance!
And also if you can guide me the best areas to stay in these particular cities. For bangkok i was thinking khao san road. and pattaya beach in pattaya. Is it the right decision?

Hi People,
I'm planning a Solo first time trip in India for two weeks in February and wonder if I can get some advice.

My basic itinerary plan is
Day 1 Arrive Delhi around 6PM
Day 2 Fly Delhi to Udaipur Departing at 1.20PM
Day 3 Udaipur
Day 4-8 Horse Riding around Udaipur
Day 9- Udaipur to Jaipur
Day 10 Jaipur
Day 11 Jaipur to Agra in the afternoon
Day 12 Agra /Taj Mihal
Day 13 Agra to Delhi in the Morning
Day 14 Flight Home from Delhi departs 1PM

My Questions are:-
1) Does anyone have any advice on the itinerary/ number of days in each place? The only things I have booked in at this stage are the Horse Riding (Hopefully) and the Flights mentioned.
2) Best way to get from Delhi to hotel at night(not booked yet so not sure which area it will be in)is the metro a safe/good option or is it best to get a taxi?
3) What would you suggest I can do on my first morning in Delhi - I guess I need to be at the Airport for around Midday so will need to make an early start to see anything and will either have my Backpack with me or will need to go back to Hotel/Hostel to pick it up afterwards. It is also a Monday so I know a lot of places will be closed so my options are limited.
4) I'm still working out how I feel about catching overnight trains as a solo female traveler vs hiring a driver Guide, although I guess I'm leaving it pretty late to book trains now, so I may end up with no choice. Does anyone know if Its likely to be able to book train tickets at the station on the day I've heard some tickets are usually available for same day travel if you go early - does this also apply if you are booking at the station but for a day or two in advance? Also alternatively is it easy to hire a driver guide between cities last minute?
5) Has anyone done a 1 day cooking course in any of these cities that they can recommend?
6) Any recommendations for hostels/cheap hotels in Delhi, Udaipur Jaipur and Agra? Do not want a party place, rather somewhere relaxed but social where its easy to meet other travelers and maybe find people to share taxis to local sites etc.
7) Do you need to book accommodation in advance or is it easy enough to turn up and find somewhere if arriving in places early in the day.

Would appreciate any advice on the above or suggestions for things not to miss in the areas I'm visiting.

Thanks
Ali

During my trip met many solo female travellers, and no one mentioned feeling worried about safety. Apparently the police don't kid around when it comes to tourist safety. Some areas in Yangon might look sketchy, but it's considerably safe, and people are really helpful. As for the conflict, it's in the north-west, so as long as you stick to places like Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle you're good, even the Shan State I believe.

The problem area is in one small area of the country, which is totally inaccessible to foreigners anyway.
Not only would I advice my sister or daughter on going ,I would also advice my Grandma!
Outside of the ^political situation^, Myanmar is one of the safest places in the entire World to visit, with crime against foreigners or solo female travellers non - existant.
I would feel considerably safer travelling in Myanmar, than I would In the USA !

I am solo female in my 30s and planning on traveling through Africa.
I am already going to Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, and a Safari through Kenya, Tanzania and ending in Zanzibar in August.

I would like to spend another two weeks somewhere but not sure where to go since I will be on my own.
I looked into the gorillas but it seems very expensive.

What counties have a chill travelers vibe and fun stuff to do?
