Starting from Dar?
Dar (from Ubungo bus terminal) to Morogoro is 3hrs 30 mins, no advance booking, just buy tickets when you get to Ubungo.

Morogoro to Iringa is 4hrs, Mikumi is less than half way, maybe an hour and a half. I booked the day before, but as long as you get to the terminal before 9am you should be fine to buy on the day. If you stop over in Mikumi, you will need to book the onward bus to be sure of a seat. You can probably get your hotel in Mikumi to phone for a reservation.

Iringa to Mbeya is 5hrs. Book the day before at the bus station in the centre of town. (You will probably have been dropped at the out of town one when you arrive in Iringa, take a daladala up the hill, or a taxi if you have much luggage).

I don’t know Makambako, but agree with Bigal1 that Tukuyu is well worth a visit - not sure you have enough time though so maybe save for another trip. If you do go to Tukuyu, it’s about an hour from Mbeya.

Buses don’t really run to a timetable. If you can book the day before it gives you peace of mind, but it isn’t a big problem if you can’t, just get to the terminal early and wait for the next bus. Travel in the mornings, there are far fewer buses after midday.

You are right.
The title suggested focus on Bintan though.
I guess if SG requires an onward air ticket, he could buy one to say Jakarta just to satisfy SG immigration, then throw it away if going to Bintan by boat.

OP, if you read the exact wording it says you need to have a valid onward AIR ticket departing within the next 96-hours. The immigration officer will have the discretion to let you in or not since it also says you may enter SG by any mode of transport but SHOULD depart SG by AIR.

I don't think there's any rule that the return ticket must be within the initial 30 days, since it's perfectly legal to stay longer by extension.

No there isn't that rule but in our experience, we have been questioned about having a ticket out which is 59 days later by check-in staff. When the check-in agent inputs your passport details into their system, their screen will then give the maximum stay permitted for your passport (i.e. 30 days) and says ticket out is required. They then read that as a ticket out within 30 days is required.

We fly into and out of the Philippines every 2 months and we have a multiple entry visa. Every time we are asked for an onward ticket, every time the check in agent questions that it's over 30 days, every time we point out our visa and at that point they enter the visa number into their system and allow us to check in.

Regarding airports - Clark is the airport that we fly into most often, it's not a great airport and is a bit of a pain in the backside to get to other places but they have started limited domestic flights from there. How easy it is to change your ticket will depend on the ticket class you book - just make sure beforehand you can do everything you want to change-wise, otherwise it's going to end up costing you more!

Chefchaouen is a very long way from Marrakesh and I doubt if you could find a direct chauffeur-driven taxi willing to undertake that length of journey, so the fastest alternative is the train, there are six trains daily from Marrakech to Souk el Arbaa at 0420, 0620, 0820, 0925, 1020, 1220 but you have to change trains at Casa Voyageurs for the onward journey to Souk el Arbaa from where you can find a shared Grand taxi or local bus for Chefchaouen via Ouezzane.

October is still late harvest time in Chefchaouen, so public transport can be busy, try to start your long journey as early in the morning as possible, you can always catch up on lost sleep if you buy first class tickets which automatically reserve your comfortable seats, the website is here...
http://www.oncf.ma/Pages/Accueil.aspx

From Chefchaouen to Port Tanger Med would have to be by Grand taxi, there is no bus or railway link, I have never travelled on this part of the journey, so ask at your accommodation for information, I always use the bus from Chefchaouen to Tangier, fare 45 dirhams, then the hydrofoil from Tangier city port to Tarifa with a free bus transfer to Algeciras port, from there you can walk up to the bus station on Calle San Bernardo from where buses run frequently to La Linea, the border crossing to Gibraltar.

As an appetiser maybe have a peek at some of my Chefchaouen pictures here......

Sorry us citizens have zero say in how our government works.

Truly? What kind of so-called democracy is that? I would encourage you to move away in that case.

The UK does not have a rule/policy of requiring travellers to have onward/return tickets so it was something else that flagged you up to immigration.

I disagree. Last Friday I travelled from Geneva to London (via Gatwick) for the weekend and I was asked whether I had a return ticket. My travel companion was processed at the adjacent booth at the same time and was asked the same question. She simply answered 'yes' and left it at that. I showed my return travel details in TripCase, but not an actual ticket. We were both granted entry, and we both used Australian passports.

(I did have with me a passport from one of the continental EU countries but I actually like the immigration experience and so I choose not to use the EU passport channel.)

On previous visits to the UK, via four different airports, the processing at passport control has ranged from casual indifference with minimal questions to a thorough grilling about intentions. I think the variation is due to the security mood at the time plus personal presentation.

but now that you've been deported from England (particularly, as mentioned, for some infraction beyond not having an onward ticket), your record is stained and there for all to see - you can thank modern technology for that.

This is not true. The Schengen states do not have routine access to UK immigration records.

These immigration rules always have one important provision: applied at discretion of immigration officer. They can even refuse entry to someone with a visa, if they think there are grounds for it.

Yes, this is indeed the case at just about every border crossing in the world and it is something to consider.

FlyOnward at FlyOnward.com is a SCAM. We paid for an onward ticket on their website at least 12 hours before our flight and have received a confirmation of our payment right away. We waited 8 hours before we have received their confirmation email that our order was processed and that we will receive the ticket in 10 mins from them or TripCase. We’ve waited but no ticket came. We’ve sent them inquiries via email and their website but there wasn’t any response from them. We’ve received another automated email from them following day that ticket has already expired. We’ve been sending them inquiries to at least refund us with our payment but they are not responding to messages.

They want evidence of an onward ticket. No evidence of funds is required. In general they are most unhelpful.

We don't have the details, so we don't know whether you technically qualify for transit without visa.

But let's assume you meet the technical requirements.

In that case it's very rare for there to be a problem. But rare problems do sometimes occur. The risk of there being a problem is a little bit greater if you're buying separate tickets: on one airline for the Finland-Chongqing-Finland sectors and AirAsia for Chongqing-BKK-Chongqing. For example, if your AA flight to Chongqing is late and you miss your onward flight home to Finland.

In any event, a great many people do use Chinese TWOV without a problem.

  • Jaipur vs Pushkar/Jodhpur

Jaipur every time. Nyet to Pushkar. Jodhpur is worth visiting if it fits an itinerary.

  • travel between Munnar / Hampi ...- Skipping Goa for a Kerala Beach (but doing so will make visiting Hampi quite a detour)

Doing one fixes the other; but there are alternatives.

Monday 4 Delhi - Jaipur ( Taxi ) ... Friday 8 Jaipur - Ranthambore ( Taxi ) ...> Sunday 10 Ranthambore - Agra ( Taxi )

So, you don't need a car+driver for all of this - not a good choice. Also, you need to re-order the destinations. Ranthambore then Jaipur then Agra.

Delhi to Ranthambore by train: https://erail.in/trains-between-stations/new-delhi-NDLS/sawai-madhopur-SWM
Ranthambore to to Jaipur by train (or car+driver); then Jaipur to Agra by train (or car+driver)

Ranthambore Safari

Get your Ranthambore accommodation to make the safari bookings on your behalf.

Thursday 7 Jaipur - Bolywood

What does this mean? "Bollywood" is the film industry in Mumbai. What do you expect to see / do / experience in Jaipur?

Wednesday 13 Varanassi Holi Thursday 14 Varanassi Holi

You need more time in Varanasi - it is a place to be and soak up - not sights to see. I urge you to stay away from the colour-throwing of Holi. You really ought consider watching Holi celebrations from the safety of a hotel window two floors up; or you may be staying in a hotel which arranges some colour throwing for guests.

Southern leg

I would re-order the the southern leg of your trip for greater efficiency.

Friday 15 flight From Varanasi (VNS) to Goa (GOI) there should be a direct option with IndiGo. 6E6913 or 6E711 Check schedules carefully.

Saturday 16 - Monday 18 Goa

Tuesday 19 - Train from Goa to Hosapete, taxi to Hampi
https://erail.in/trains-between-stations/vasco-da-gama-VSG/hosapete-jn-HPT

Wednesday 20 - Saturday 23 Hampi; overnight train to Bangalore.

Sunday 24 Flight BLR-COK and transfer immediately to Munnar

Monday - Munnar

Tuesday - car+driver to Alleppey

Wednesday - Thursday - houseboat on the backwaters

Friday - transfer to COK, flight to BOM for onward flight.

Some advice would be helpfull!!

Understand the Indian Railway system: https://www.seat61.com/India.htm
Book your train tickets the moment you settle your itinerary.

If you have not already booked your international flights, is it possible for you to fly out of Kochi?
