I am going travelling in asia. I need a little help with dates and times to spend in places finding conflicting durations to stay at places.
We are first traveling into Bangkok on the 12th of June up until the 14th. After this the next set date we have is the 27th June in Koh Phangan because of the full moon party. We then have until the 12th September around Asia but we are also wanting to Boston Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia before we move on.

The problem is I don’t want to rush any part of or do loads of unnecessary travel. From Bangkok I was thinking:
Koh Samui (4 days)
Koh Tao( 3 days)
Koh Phangan
Krabi (is 3 days enough here or would 7 be better)
Koh Lanta
Phi phi (in it better to actually stay here or do as part of a day trip)
Phuket
Chang mai
Pai
Laos (2 weeks)
Vietnam (4 weeks)
Cambodia(2 weeks)

Thanks to anyone that can help

Hi everybody!
I need some tips... we are two people and we're planning to arrive in Lanzhou by plane at 12:00 a.m. on December 30th. We'd like to visit: the Labrang and Lungmu monasteries, Bingling caves, Jiayuguan fortress, and in Dunhuang Mogao Caves, Crescent Moon Pool and Mountain of Echoeing sand, and the Jade Door.We have to leave on January 4th or 5th. Is it possible? Would it be better to take a tour from a local agency, and if so do you have any suggestions? We don't have a big budget, air travel is already expensive..
Thank you very much!

My partner and I are planning on doing the Santa Cruz trek in May, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on budget tour companies. We are also worrying about acclimatizing, we plan on going straight to Huaraz after landing in Lima on a night bus. We have 2 days to acclimatize before we hope to start our Santa Cruz trek and are looking for acclimatizing hike recommendations
Thanks so much!

I'd go with either the Smokies (drive) or Cumberland Island (fly or drive), depending on how much civilization you want and how warm you need it at night.

Your flight budget is a bit unrealistic for most options, btw.

Thank you everyone for you help and suggestions. I just really liked the idea of traveling around Europe by train, but it sounds like my budget won't work for what I'd like to do. Alternatively, I could just pick one country and save money on train cost to use towards my daily budget. Considering my budget, what would the best country be for that time of year. Id like to visit some cool cities with nice architecture, see the countryside, and some hiking/outdoor adventure would a big bonus.

Thank you for your offer Jo and Tes. I think I've found a driver just trying to sort hotel prices. Sri Lankan quotes def feeling like the prices of travelling in the Maldives rather than Indian prices. Might need to down grade my accommodation expectations a little or raise my budget.

Day 1 : Hanoi - Ha giang
Day 2 : HG - Sa Phin No hotel in tiny Sa Phin, which is very close to Dong Van , so, it is HG-Sa Phin-Lung Cu-Dong Van
The rest is a crazy race and should be
Day 3 : Dong Van-Ma Pi Leng Pass-Meo Vac - Bao Lac (NO WAY to do DV-CB in one day !)
Day 4 : Bao Lac-Cao Bang
Day 5 : a LONG ride CB-Ban Gioc - Hanoi !

SUPER driver-guide at 100$ per day for him and all his expenses gas, hotels, meals, etc, none of yours; which are very low : bungalow HG (Truong Xuan Hotel) and hotel Dong Van (Hoang Ngoc) 35$, permit DV 10$ pp, hotel Jeanne in CB 20$, meals 8-10$. The driver and I take care of all the hotel reservations ; you pay driver and hotels directly on the spot, nothing to me !

Possible by bus, but not easy : night bus Hanoi-Ha Giang (boring road) ; minibus HG-Dong Van but then you have to take a taxi or rent a car to drive around DV ; back to HG on the same road, then a very long bus ride HG-CB and minibus CB-Ban Gioc-Cao Bang, and then big bus CB-Hanoi

Hi!

I will be starting my hitchhiking travel with Vietnam crossing SE Asia around February 1st.
My rough plan is:
Feb.1-14:Vietnam
14-28.:Laos
March1-5.:Thailand
5-20:Myanmar
20-31:Thailand
April1-10:Malaysia
10-30:Indonesia
Then crossing to Australia by May.
Itinerary might change.

Its a low budget trip, sleeping in tents, buddhist temples, locals' garden and wherever we can find a free spot, do couchsurfing with ocassional breaks in cheap hostels.

This would not only break us out of our comfort zone but would lead to interesting encounters experiencing locals' hospitality, the country and the world itself in an authentic way and at least but not last would also inspire our personal growth.

I don't smoke, don't drink, don't party and I am not foodie.

I am looking for a like-minded buddy, so we both can have a pleasant time while traveling without "killing" each other and to keep budget low as well.

Anyone who feels sturdy enough, has similar plans and wants to join, hit me up.

Thanks!

You don't have to spend that much money , Klongchao , back from the beach is the cheapest area for accommodation - try Doy Guesthouse , Bai Pen or Seaview bungalows for under 500 baht. The best beaches are further south at Ao Jark and Ao Prao beaches. Ao Jark has Neverland Resort - min about 1000 baht a night , Ao Pra has resort which costs about 2000 baht a nite. You can do days walks to these beaches from Klongchao.

You will be fine with that kind of budget as long as you don't overdo it with drinks and stick to the cheaper booze options.
And yes, best to ignore those who tell you what you 'need' to do.
Not a tour person myself, rather do stuff on my own, plenty of options.
