Frequency of A/C Buses are less. But you will have hundreds of non a/c buses plying every hour and is very cheap compared to ferry service.
Travel from Kochi to Alapuzha By Public transport Bus (Volvo A/c Bus) - 2 Hrs.
Alapuzha to Kollam By Ferry, Kollam to Varkala By Public transport Bus (Volvo A/c Bus) (1 hour)
Varkala to Kovalam Via Trivandrum(1 Hour).
If you don't plant to touch Varkala, Trivandrum - Kollam Bus trip will take 1.30 hrs.

44 days Finland Sweden Norway itinerary suggestions
We are a couple (50+) who like to walk in old towns, small villages, big city, and easy hiking trails.

I can cancel places that you think we should not go.
Can anyone give me an ideal schedule for 44 days for March and April?
We appreciate your suggestions.
clementis_fur_cap thanks - we were Milan August and Sept last year so maybe changes since then, public transport often a moving target.
We only ended up buying tickets from and to Malpensa on the express, yes got paper tickets each time. Didn't bother with public transport within Milan as we ended up walking to wherever we wanted to go (or taxi).

My partner and I are travelling to Portugal in late December and we're hoping to spend Christmas holed up in a village cottage somewhere snowy in Serra da Estrela. We heard that pretty much everything is closed during that period, so we'll pack enough food for the two days of course! Unfortunately, neither of us are driving which means this village has to be accessible by public transport or taxi from a large-ish city/town.
Are there any recommendations for which village we can try to find such a cottage?
