Yes Tezza will come back with good info, but I'll jump in first and say Laem Tong Bay. IMO, head and shoulders the best part of Phi Phi. Loads of info pics and videos on link below.

We have from Jan 17-22 to spend on the islands.. so 5 nights/4 full days ( as we arrive on the 17th in afternoon and leave on the 22nd). I was contemplating doing 17-19 in one place and 21-22 in another.. the 20th being a travel day as would the 17th and 22nd really but the hubby felt that was too much moving around. I kinda feel it is too much moving around as well.. but would really like to spend time in both places. Oh the decisions the decisions, lol.

Phi Phi Ley

We just camped out on Maya Bay (on ko phi phi ley) last night. The scenery was unreal and it is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. However, our night did not go as planned. The passengers and the staff in charge got very drunk (drinking pails of booze). All of the potential for a great night was there, until one female passenger refused the advances of one of the male tour guides. He proceeded to punch and hit her while the rest of the passengers tried to stop the violence…

Hi all,

Have 8 nights around Krabi/Phuket and am wondering what you reckon...Phi Phi or Lanta to stay at? Or are they OK to do by day tour?

Two nights in Ao Nang, one night cruising Ao Phang-Nga, two nights on Phi Phi, one night on Lanta and then two nights in Phuket - what do you reckon????

Also, does anyone have any info on the overnight cruise around Ao Phang-Nga??

Cheers everyone.

Not much point in having a tide table - you get two high and two low tides per day, which scoot forward about 50 min./day, and you just work around that. Ao Lo Dalam is very tidal indeed - at low tide you can walk for a couple hundred meters and still not be up to your waist, but you can still cool off and do some kyaking at any time. High tide is definitely a bit better, since you can then plop on dry sand and jump straight in the surf when you get too warm. I have stayed at Phi Phi…

Long Beach is the standout. I reckon The Beach Resort is the best accom on the beach and had great bungalows this low season (April is low season most places) for 1700. But many bungalows involve a serious climb. Paradise Pearl and Paradise Resort are pretty good - your budget should get you a front row place right on the beach. Check second link below for more details.

Hello,

Wonder if anyone can tell me what the weather is like in either of these places right now. Yes, I have searched many weather sites, but they dont give you the full picture. and I know that a big fat rain cloud, does not necessarily mean that its raining all day.....it may be just a half hour down pour and then the sun is out!

Basically, want to know if I'll be beaching or exploring?

Many thanks.

Hi, we will be in Thailand this whole November again and everytime we visit Thailand we spend few days (more like a week :) ) on Koh Phi Phi - we especially like the Long Beach area. This year, however, we are not so sure we want to visit this island again. Mostly because of all the comments on this forum about the development, construction, prices boom etc.
I was wandering what would your suggestion be for an alternative. What we are looking for from this place is good diving, great beach (sand…
