Fair enough, thanks for the kind insight everyone
hostels in Railay Beach
I think not. According to the internet map there's one on the next beach ( forget the name ) along. It also has cheap huts ( or used to anyway ).
Can walk to Railay west from there.
Can't "book" Thai ferries ( except Lomprayah ) from overseas. See any travel agent when you get there.
Hello,
We'll be staying at one of the resorts (not in Tonsai Village) on Koh Phi Phi and have two flight options:
11:30 AM or 8:30 PM out of Krabi airport
From what I've read, it seems difficult (impossible?) or at least stressful to get from the resort to Tonsai for the ferry to Krabi to the airport in time for an 11:30 AM flight, but I was just wondering if anyone can confirm this?
I'm guessing it would be possible to arrange a private ferry option through the hotel, but I'm guessing that…
I need a bit of advice on my up coming Thailand trip. I'm going to Koh Samui on 9th Nov 2012 for a couple of weeks but I had originally planned to come with the g/f. She can't afford it so I'm going solo now, not a problem though. I'm going to chill out, meet some cool peeps, explore, sunbath, swim, eat, drink, do a thai cooking class and also my Open Water diving certificate.
I was thinking 3/4 days in Koh Samui before heading over to Koh Tao to dive. However because it's monsoon season, I'm…
Hey! I wont be staying there until November! Will feedback thereafter though!
I just finished Cross Currents, by John Shors. Just wanted to shoot all you people who are actually traveling now a (I'm so jealous!). Anyway, it's set in Koh Phi Phi, just before the tsunami. A perfect read for the islands.
Side note: make sure you bring a dry bag for your camera, etc. They will either make you swim to a rope ladder to climb and then walk over to the other side (Maya Beach) or they will take you into Maya Bay and you hop off the boat with your bag nice and dry. Our group had to wade through chest high water in high tide and climb the rope ladder. Not a big deal, but unfortunately my bag (inside a trash bag) got a hole in it and got my camera was ruined.... just a word of caution! The next day…
The guy who runs yourkrabicom tends to keep things up to date - is suggesting there are afternoon boats in low season, the last of which leaves 1500.

This will still need a pretty early start from Hat Yai - it's a fair distance. So show up at the bus station early - there are fairly frequent departures.
Krabi bus station is 5km out of town and maybe 7km from the pier. Plenty of songthaews go down to town where a travel agency will be able to sell you…
