Could anyone let me know how difficult to get budget accommodations during the Songkhran in mid-April on Koh Phi Phi? My husband and I are not looking for anything fancy, ideally just a basic beach bungalow (we don't mind just a fan or shared bathroom). We usually don't stay in places that would require a reservation, but I am a little concerned about the timing. Ok, ok - I know this is a strange link, so I hope to hit through many places on the way - i have 6 weeks for this.

With my wife I'm driving down from Udon Thai, via Hui Hin, to Krabi on my 1200cc motorbike (Big Bike) in October. From Krabi we plan to jump on to Phi Phi for a couple of days, and from there down to Koh Lanta also for a couple of days. Afterwards back to Krabi, Hui Hin, and home to Udon.
Question:
Is it adviseable/most practicable to leave the bike in Krabi (at a secure place), or to take it with us to Phi Phi and from there to Koh Lanta?

wow does anyone know what the treehut at viking is like? i like the idea it being on the beach, but on the website the interior doesn't look as nice as the bungalows in the jungle part
