Hi! I will recommend you go another small and wild island instead of Santorini. There are a lot of magical places out of tourist routes!!
Here my list of the best islands in Cyclades:
1. Despotiko
2. Koufonisia
3. Folegandros
4. Antiparos
5. Schoinoussa
Antiparos is an easy shuttle ferry ride away. From Naoussa you can catch the excursion boat to Delos which also makes a stop in Mykonos Town. I may be mistaken but there might be a daytrip excursion to Santorini if you don't have the time to go there for a few days.
Hi there,
Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed a long week in the Cyclades last year, spending 2-3 days in Santorini and the rest on Naxos island (we were planning to go to Koufonissi as well, but decided against it as we wanted to relax and not move around so much).
This year we have 2 weeks instead of one, and want to return to Greece. We're thinking that Corfu and the Ionian islands might be a good choice.
We are looking for a not too touristy place with nice tavernas, beaches and a relaxed…
Your plan looks good.
You could refine it taking into consideration these ideas.
1. It makes sense to stay at least 3 nights on each Island.
2. Paros Antiparos. You can only visit Antiparos from Paros. A frequent boat ride between the two islands is a little over 5 minutes from running until quite late so You can stay in either Island and visit the other just as an excursion. I would stay in Antiparos and visit Paros but you should NOT stay 1 and 1 and 1 day....(make it at least 2 and 1 if that is…
I also had 3 days in a wonderful Folegandros hotel the end of may, 5 years ago or so... but it wasn't a costly splurge: Hotel Anemousa - https://www.anemousahotel.gr/en/article.php?cat=2 has an "infinity pool" i think they cll it, right o the rim of a cliff ... I kept thinking I was in that perfume commercial ... at the time a single was €35 in may, now it's 45, but wowee! Only caveat ... you walk down a Steep ramp to reception & rooms/pool, with no handrail .. not fun at night (I hope…
It really depends on your travel style. I think 6 days on each island is a perfect plan for you. It gives you enough time for some in-depth exploration as well as some serious downtime at the beach or sitting around a hotel pool (if available). Santorini has quite a lot to offer. Naxos and Paros do as well, and you can easily include Antiparos if you want a 4th island, but I honestly think you'd be stretching yourselves too thin. The nice thing is you can conveniently visit Antiparos as a…
I think there is a Jetboat most days out of Santorini to Koufonisi.
I would go there first since Koufonisi is an "odd" out of the way destination. No matter how you do it your itinerary will depend on efficient connection to koufonisi.
From there jumping to Naxos and then Paros (and back to Piraeus or Rafina from Naxos) is super easy and is the fastest route time wise without back and forth.
3 days per Island is fine. Beginning of june gives you the chance to keep your options open and decide to…
Thanks to everyone on the forums, I have most of a Greek island hopping trip planned. My wife and I (along with our 4 month old and 2.5 year old) will be spending 26 days in Greece, starting June 14th.
We now have Santorini, Naxos and Antiparos booked. We are left with a total of 6 nights at the end of our trip and a few options.
Option 1 would be 5 nights in Paros, ferry back to Athens, one night in Athens in the airport area prior to our flight.
Option 2 would be 6 nights in Athens…
Santorini (Oia and Fira) have nice momentary views, but are not so good for three good reasons:
- there are no beaches on Santorini to speak of
- the narrow streets, steps, and alleys are not kid-friendly
- it's expensive in most places
As above up-thread - I think Naxos, Paros, and Antiparos, are all good healthy beachy alternative options. Anyway - whatever you do can hardly be wrong.

FYI
From Paros you can have daily trips to another island
From Naousa to Delos- Mykonos
From Piso Livadi to Naxos -Koufonisia (amazing sea)
and of course from Paros(Punda port) to Antiparos
