Hi there,

From Mid November (post coming from Koh Phang Nah after FMP) me and my mate will be heading west...

I have 8 nights to split between Krabi (Ao Nang), Phi Phi and Phuket

My original plan was 2 in Krabi and 3 each in the other two.

However, i've heard that Phuket isnt great and accom hard to come by on phi phi.

Looking for a mix of scenery and party

What would everyone suggest?

Thanks
Dan

Hello :)

New to the forum and this is my first post! From what I've read (quite a bit) you've all been a great help to fellow travelers, so hopefully you can help me out on this one.

My girl and me are staying in phuket for 1 night after we fly in on the 31st of july. We fly in, in the evening and wanna take the boat the next day, preferably straight to Railey beach, but if this isn't an option, to Phi Phi and stay there for a while and then go to Railey Beach.

So the question is: Can we get…

Thanks for the help.

One final question.

We are going to stay at Tanamas House on Nai Yang Beach. Is there somewhere there we can buy tickets for the ferry to Phi Phi for the next morning? We arrive in Phuket at 7.30pm so wont get to the hotel til maybe 8.30-9. Can we buy ferry tickets and still get picked up at 7am the next morning for the 8.30 ferry?

Thanks,
David

I hate to say it but snorkeling and diving has gone down in Thailand precipitously in the last decade. Some local places are OK for cute fish and all but I really don't bother snorkeling anymore. No big "wows" anymore. Unless you hit one of the smaller less trafficked islands. Ask Tezza. Maybe he knows more about that.

Hi...I suggest you to buy round trip ferry ticket coz it's cheaper than one way. Actaully, if you buy ferry ticket, they will offer you transfer from Airport to pier, anyways, please re-check with travel agent. If you have no idea for travel agent, you can visit at "Phuket P-P Service Co.,Ltd" counter at Phuket International Airport, Arrival Hall.

Hello there,
We will be flying to Phuket (arriving at 11:00) and then taking the 13:30 ferry to Phi Phi (staying at the Holiday Inn at Laem Tong Beach).

We'll have a bit of time before our ferry leaves, so I'm wondering the following:

  • Beer - I understand it's cheaper to bring beer with us from Phuket as opposed to buying it in Phi Phi. Is there a store near the Rasada Pier where we could purchase beer, soft drinks, etc?
  • Restaurant - is there a restaurant near the Rasada Pier to enjoy a…

Look, most people will say 4 nights is not enough - but if you have your heart set on seeing all 3, yep, you can do it. But it won't be all that relaxing, it means some places you only have a day, and when you take out the time spent packing, travelling, unpacking - only part of a day.
I'd tend to pick 2 places - say Phuket and Phi Phi - I reckon Phi Phi is the better option because it takes less time to access from Phuket. And yep, unless the seas are real rough, 2 hours transfer is normal. Plus…
