Phi Phi has really variable visibility, especially during May - if you want to stay on the West Coast (which has better corals and variety of marine life) consider Ko Lanta, where they dive Ko Haa & Hin Daeng/Muang where the visibility is usually much better than Phi Phi. Ko Haa has consistently good visibility year-round with tons of great stuff to see - macro-heaven with Frogfish, Harlequin Shrimps, Sea Moths, Nudibranches etc.
Many more dive centres on the island are now open year round, but…
whats phi phi like for new years? everyone hypes up koh phangan but i imagine phi phi must throw a good party. any experiences?
Hi There - I'm looking for beach paradise in Phi Phi, Long Beech I think for around 1000 baht...preferably a beachfront bungalow, the reviews I've been reading are really mixed... any recommendations from previos Phi Phi travellers?
We stayed on Koh Lanta 2 years ago and would recommend it strongly if you want a very laid back location. There are some nice spots towards the south end of the island on the west coast with a range of prices and sophistication. There is certainly lots of seafood in the beach restaurants. There is an excellent dive centre at Pimalai if that is of interest.
Have fun
The ferries have scheduled time either from Phuket or Krabi to Phiphi. And theres a lot of taxi waiting in Phuket or Krabi to take you to the airport.
Viking palace is quite a nice place,i have few friends who stayed there and they loved it!Theres a couple of nice resorts in long beach,i guess it all depends how much is your budget.
The quote for transfers is way too high. You could do it for less than half on your own.
PP Cabana is one of the best of the hotels in Tonsai village and if you want to be close to the action then you really need to stay in the village. The long beach area is much quieter but IMO the better choice. You could look at 'Phi Phi The Beach Resort'.
It really comes down to how you want to spend your time at Phi Phi. If party and action is what you want then stay in or near the village......or if you…
Hi all,
New on this forum. I've planning to go phi phi island in december and I'm thinking of staying at the Phi Phi Beach Resort. I've looked on various websites (trip advisor, travel fish etc) which have reviews, but I can't seem to find any links to make a booking. Does anyone know if you can book online or if they have an official site?
I have read similar threads regarding this subject, but all haven't been answered. A lot of sites have the Phi Phi Relax Beach Resort which is not the same…
None taken Leigh - I smacked myself on the forehead when I saw my boo-boo. Cheers.
Hi all,
Just hoping someone can offer some advice. I've been looking at Phi Phi Island Village as a possible option to stay at in late July (4 nights). I've come across a few posts elsewhere that make me a bit concerned though and hope someone could offer some insights to confirm/deny!
- PP Island Village is expensive and limited to eat in. Does anyone know HOW expensive? Also, I've read that you can head out of the resort to where some locals have set up operations. Anyone know if that is…
I have an Andaman Island hopping sublink to ferry timetables on my Phi Phi and Lanta pages (see the GETTING THERE section towards the end) in the first link below. From memory abt 1 hour - but I last did it some time back.
