I mean i need not worry about my belongings or myself right? Like how i need to be watchful in places like Bangkok?

With that attitude you should worry! No where in the world is THAT safe. Thieves and bad people are everywhere.
However, a little common sense goes a long way.

Incidentally, Bangkok isn't a particularly dangerous place for a tourist, and the most dangerous thing a tourist can do is ride a motorcycle. Several are killed every year.

I finally found some info for you....Sorry for the delay.
There are a couple of dive shops that do go to the wrecks but they don't go in the monsoon season. I was told that the currents are too strong in the area and the visibility is very bad. So they wont be going again until probably October.

The first 25 minutes is steep to moderate climbing through thick rainforest up the eastern side of the island. This is followed by 20 minutes of relatively flat bush-walking on the elevated plateau. As the track starts its steep drop down towards the village you come to the famous Town Viewpoint with a fabulous outlook over the narrow Ton Sai-Loh Dalum isthmus and its twin beaches, backdropped by precipitous limestone cliffs higher than your vantage point. Another 15 minutes of steep downhill…

When you get to Phi Phi Don it's easy to hire a longtail boat for a private trip to Phi Phi Leh. Probably cost you about 2000 baht. Be warned that when you get to Maya Bay it will hardly be a private trip - you and about 100 other boats doing the same thing every day. The group tours are better value and take in snorkeling at mosquito and bamboo islands which can be pretty good.

Hi all, I am going to Thailand for the first time as part fo my 'big trip'. I did have a look through the posts but still a bit unsure what to do and where to go. Therefore I was hoping to get some tips and all.

Arriving to Bangkok on Dec26 and planning to spend no more than 2 days there. I am sure there is lots and lots to do but big cities are something that I want to get as far from as I can. To make my life even easier I am flying out of Singapore on Jan05 and probably spending only 1 night…

hmmm. Tezza says that it might be on the east coast. I thought it looked more like along the hilly coast to the east of the pier. Last time I went that way it was still covered in trees, so hard to tell.
If that's the case, disregard the bit about the east coast of Phi Phi, as that's obviously gone the way of the central isthmus. Railay was always heaps better than Phi Phi anyway.

I will be in southern Thailand for a couple of weeks in mid November, and plan on spending them in Railay and Ko Phi Phi... I am on an extremely limited budget, and am having a hard time finding any budget places online... will it be a problem if i show up in these places without reservation? Are these even the right places for me? I don't care about the party or club scene, I just want a pretty, cheap beach to chill out, read, write, and maybe drink a couple hundred beers.
