Hey, I'll be travelling solo in that part of the world from 21 Dec - 10th Jan. Looks like we're takin a slightly different route to each other but I'll be at Pha Ngan for NYE.If you come across any good resorts whilst you're looking for stuff on the internet let me know n I'll do the same. :-)
We are staying in the South of the Island ;) Can't wait!
Does anyone you know roughly how much it would cost to hire a private speedboat to Phangan? How long is the trip?
Thanks!!!!!
I looked at the ferry link on Tezza's page, and tried to find websites for each company with little success. I want to make sure I am getting to Phi Phi as quickly as possible from Phuket (and vice versa a few days later). The Andaman, Phi Phi Cruiser and Paradise Cruise (the only websites I found) seem to do Phuket to Phi Phi at 8:30 at an hour and 45 minutes or so. Andaman looks like the only one that goes from Phi Phi to Phuket early, at 9am. Does anyone have any other companies that are…
I took Poseidon's 3 day snorkelling trip around the Similans about this time last year - I have a fair bit of stuff including pix on the SNORKELLING page in the first link below.
To save a lot of hassle I got Poseidon to pick me up from the airport - the flight arrived abt 2100.
If you are bucks down, there are places near the airport to stay, but they are not that cheap and getting a bus north next day is not straight-forward brecause you have to get out to the highway and flag one down. I reckon…
Hi, beginning from Bangkok what is the most efficient route to travel to Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, and Krabi? We're planning on using train for the majority of (if not all) transportation and are fully prepared to spend many half days on trains. We need to end in Bangkok again as well.
Hope that made sense - all I'm asking for is something like "Bangkok -> Phuket -> Koh Samui -> Koh Phi Phi -> Krabi -> Bangkok" (I just made that up). Thanks in advance!
I'd suggest you write an email to the hotel/ hostel which is you're interested in. You might enjoy special discount rates upon receive on reply. Just sharing my booking experience in Chiang Mai and do enjoy your holiday.
Thanks for both your feedback!
Overdevelopment is indeed regrettable, but I come from a metropolis city that is chaotic and overly populous. Slight development as such seen on Phi Phi and Railay would still be a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of my daily city life.
Nonetheless, based on daveelliot's pictures Railay seems to be more picturesque. So I guess I'll stay in Railay and make day trips to Phi Phi because I do wanna see the Maya Bay.
One more question: Since May would be the…
Hey all,
I'll be arriving on Phuket from Phi Phi at the end of my Thai journey and was just wondering if there are connections from the pier in Phuket up to Nai Thon/Nai Yang area? Will be flying out of Phuket so want to stay close to airport plus from what i've read here they're prob the best areas. Also if there isn't any bus connection any idea how much a taxi might set me back?
Cheers in advance for any help!
Ferrying there and back every day would not work - Not only would you spend more as #1 has said, but it would be incredibly time consuming.
I definitely recommend staying there for at least a couple of nights on Phi Phi. Each to their own, but I personally loved it much more than Phuket & Krabi.
