Mai Pen Rai Bungalows at Than Sadet , Ko Phangan a bit expensive for eating, above the beach Silver Cliff Bungalows cheaper. There is better scenery further west from Pai but there are no hippy , bohemian places as such , village of Tham Lod near Sopong has nice scenery around although due to forest cutting its not quite as special as it used to be.
Town of Mae Sariang is cheap and relaxing but the river front has become completely built up with bars , resturants, guesthouses and resorts…
If you are going to SEA anyway why don't you just do one of the 4 week courses in Thailand. They
re available all over the place but mainly in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Doing a course there will give yu classroom experience that you won't get online.
Thank you everyone! Yes I meant £6000 each person. The advice about hostels was really interesting, where would you find the guesthouses, are they online?
Us real travellers only sleep in tents/hostels/guesthouses ;-)
You're not a real traveller until your Tilley hat looks worn :-D
Hi there,
It seems like most hotels/hostels/guesthouses in Samarkand are either expensive or inconveniently located. I was wondering if anyone had any particular recommendations?
Thanks
I loved Chang Mai, it was stunning and although no cats, I did get to go on a phenomenal tour to swim with Elephants.
You don't need to stay at a hostel , stay at a simple guesthouse which are often family run . Hostels are not available everywhere anyway . I may be wrong but don't think couch surfing is that common in Thailand.
Did you want a hostel? The only hostel I know in Placencia is Anda Di Hows Hostel.
I've heard positive comments about Lydia's Guesthouse. It's small & popular, so reserve in advance.
Doesn't Eva fly out of Vancouver? or do they combine that with their Seattle Flights? They fly a Taipei to Chiang Mai leg direct BUT
If you are looking for bottom dollar, it is usually cheaper to fly into a big city and then take the budget to a secondary destination. To get cheaper you pay for it by down time in airports. As in, getting a flight direct HK to Chiang Mai and or that Eva leg Taipei to CM is likely going to be more expensive than flying to Bangkok and then flying Bangkok to Chiang…
Hello I will be in Thailand the very
beginning of 2020--four days Chiang Mai, 3 Bangkok, four Khao Lak- and will want to buy some custom or customized women's clothing (and perhaps a suit or shirts for my husband). Has anyone recently done such there and can you tell me, does it need be Bangkok only, and is the timeframe unrealistic? Is it safe to measure/pay and then receive clothing later by mail? I have done some reading and am aware of constraints but am looking for any/all input.
Greatly…
