Dominic is survived by his beautiful wife Jenna in Houston Texas. Knew him for about 14 years, frequent visitor to Chiang Mai and Thailand his favorite country for travel. He allegedly picked up a virus while on a birding expedition in Panama, a place he always regarded as a birder's paradise.

#43 not me. Relations who had return tickets but more than 30 days out. Had a mad scramble to change flights. We have tickets home this trip but from KL end of October. Have no idea what made Terminal Services change their minds at check in.
Hunting, fishing and foraging are widely practiced in rural communities across the whole of Thailand, and naturally (pun intended) it is very different to what you might have practiced in the west.
By example: Scroll through this Facebook group's page and you'll find plenty examples of hunting, foraging and fishing รวมพลคนเกษตรพอเพียง
Fishing is hugely popular in Thailand and you'll find people fishing most lakes or rivers, but if you want to experience the best fishing you probably need to…
My husband and I are stopping in Pai for about three days in the middle of our three-week Thailand excursion. Between exploring temples in Bangkok, exploring Chiang Mai, and tanning in the islands, we want to rough-it a bit in Pai and have some relaxing fun with fellow backpackers. Would love some advice on the following:
1. Where is the best area to stay, knowing that we don't want to be kept up all night, but we also want some excitement/nightlife (looking for a short walk or moped ride).
2…
I'm not sure but by the time you leave the airport it will probably be around 22.30 and you'll probably have to go to mo Chit (or Victory monument, though I heard minivans are no longer allowed to run from there but I'm not sure) so you'll likely struggle to find a bus or van to Phayuhakhiri that late. However, an overnight bus departing around midnight bound for Lampang/Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai etc. might take you and drop you off there but you won't arrive before 2.30 or 3am.

Try going down the street the next left turn after Buddy Lodge there is a quite area of guesthouses down there. Also you can go beyond Tanao road to the next main road there is a low key area around there. A few kilometers away At Sri Ayuthaya rd there are guesthouses such as Sawatdee guesthouses and others - this is not new area , its been around as long as the KSR scene. Also from KSR you can try the area closer to the river - where the old Apple Guesthouse used to be.
There is no new KSR…
Hey beautiful people. Next trip to Thailand I am planning on crossing the temples of Kamphaeng Phet and Si Satchanalai off my list :) Looking at some other out of the way places to visit and Sangkhlaburi keeps popping up. It's a bit of a de-tour as we'll be arriving into BKK and making our way to Chiang Mai via the above temple towns. I like the whole 'backwater' look of the place, and it seems like it would be an interesting mix of people. Plus the bridge would be pretty cool to see. Would…
If you have been to Chiang Mai I would spend your month in the south. If you can afford the Similan trip, do it, but Khao Lao is dominated by big hotels and package tourists, so I wouldn't plan to stay long. A month will give you time to do the best of both itineraries. Start in Trang and finish with the Similans or vice versa. Check out the weather in the Similans before you book the trip, and plan the order of the rest of your trip around that. 3 days on a boat may not be so great if it…
Empty... Empty empty.. Thailand is empty at this time... Do not worry about booking....ok to book for bangkok if you must..
Dont be hung up on the word hostel.. Hotel, guesthouse, hostel... There are thousands....
As noted you are arriving at new years.. Wrap everything in plastic because you will get wet...
As for phuket and samui, what is it that attracts you to want to go there..... Phuket is an overpriced luxury place(in general), so if you are backpacking, this is not the place
