Hi Everyone! Me and my girlfriend are set to spend about 19 days (2 day travel each way) so about 14-15 days of actual travel in Thailand in mid March-early April. We've set a rough plan of how many days we want to spend in each destination and I was hoping to get some feedback on our outline and see if anyone has any tips to make our trip more fruitful and more bang for our buck.
We're trying to keep this trip fairly cheap (both grad students) so keep that in mind when making suggestions and we both would rather spend more time in coastal/island areas compared to heavy tourist spots or party heavy areas. I post what we've come up with so far and if anyone can send some suggestions our way it would be much appreciated!
day 1: Bangkok
day 2: Bangkok--fly to Chiang Mai
day 3: Chiang Mai
day 4: Chiang Mai
day 5: Chiang Mai--fly to Krabi
day 6: Krabi
day 7: Krabi
day 8: Krabi--travel Koh Lanta (boat? best way?)
day 9: Koh Lanta
day 10: Koh Lanta--Phi Phi day trip?
day 11: Koh Lanta--flight back to Bangkok
day 12: Bangkok
day 12: Bangkok
day 13: leave 1am back to US
We really have no experience with this area and have only traveled abroad to Europe/Mexico/Canada so any tips are much appreciated.
From our understanding Krabi/Koh Lanta are fairly close and good home bases to take various day trips to other islands are attractions.
Thanks and Cheers!

We are looking to head to Thailand for 2 weeks from 16th July for our honeymoon. We love culture and food, we are not big beach people but would like to inxlude something beachy with a nice Seaview.
We will fly into Bangkok (if It wasn't our honeymoon I would look to spend most of our time here) and would like to divide our time into 3. 1. Bangkok City joy 2. honeymoon - perhaps Kanchanaburi or a beach 3. Countryside goodness.
What are your suggestions? Where shall we go and what shall we do in each place? We aren't looking to hit the touristy islands in the south.
Any nicer hotels that aren't super expensive?
Many thanks
