I remember back to one of my very first trips overseas, this must have been before ATM were available worldwide, as I has stashed a couple thousand dollars in my money pouch, but forgot to zip it up. The cash fell out in the flight over and another passenger immediately pointed out the problem, to my embarrassment and relief.
Another option for hiking is Parque Nacional Zoquiapan. I revisited it this morning, taking an Estrella Roja superrapidos (which translates as their slowest class), from TAPO and getting off at Llano Grande. There is a busy truck stop there with lots of comedores, but crossing the highway and heading northwest into the mountains was a solitary and relaxing natural experience.
By the way, there is no other place like the pueblos mancomunados of Oaxaca in Mexico.
Will guys thank you for the “SUPPORT” I did it in 24 hours from Nogales to Mexico City non stop all night with no problems whatsoever. Mexico is a wonderful place.

Sweet deal, for sure. I wonder if Interjet offers similar layover benefits on other flights.
As an aside, I've enjoyed visits to Montreal over the years (most of my family still lives in Ontario, though) ... with my first being when I worked in a field office there several times a month ... starting just before (and through) the 1970 Crisis (FLQ / War Measures Act). Interesting time to be there, to say the least! Not so much during the Winter, though. :-)
Enjoy the visit to Mexico!

I swear by my Pacsafe Travelsafe to keep things like a spare credit card, passport, extra cash for emergencies and any other important documents. I can lock it to a metal bar inside my rolling duffle or have it locked in the safe-deposit at reception, if available. Also, I carry enough cash for the day and/or a debit card in a zippered pouch sewn into one of my pants pockets to discourage pickpockets. Are both of these tactics necessary? I suppose many might argue that they aren't. However, they have worked for me for a long time.
Being vigilant and aware of your surroundings is very important.
