For a short trip, 3 days, I would like to go to Tel Aviv.

I've never been to the Middle East before, and Tel Aviv seems like a good place to start. I would be travelling solo and stay in hostels (probably near the beachside, as far as I've looked).

A friend of mine recommended me to go and visit Jaffa, rent a bike and cross through the city centre, and some other stuff to do.

What else would you guys recommend? Would Tel Aviv be a good 1st Middle East destination for such a period?

Heading down to Havana this weekend for two days/one night (better than nothing I suppose). My question is, how safe is it to walk from Centro Habana (Habana Real Hostal) to Plaza Vieja before sunrise? It looks to be about a 20-25 minute walk so I'd probably leave my hostel around 6:15AM. I'm traveling as a young solo male. My goal is to photograph Plaza Vieja in the early morning sunlight.
