Hello,

Am from Vietnam and going to travel to Morocco for 12 days by end of April. Am going to land in Casablanca and plan to go to: Meknes, Fez, Chefchaouen, Marrakesh and a 2 day trip to Sahara then back to Casablanca to fly back. Need some advice whether the plan is too ambitious for 12 days? Should i need to drop 1 or 2 places and if so, which place should be removed from the list :)?

And if you know the country well, I would love to hear your suggestion on the order of the places I should…

Yes, I am agree with the question of " how long '1/3 of your time' is " - Oh, now I see it is 9 days. It is not so much time and for the desert trip you need 3-4 days at least.
I want ask where you land and from where you leave. And how you want to travel, by rent a car or public transport?
If you land in Fes, do this town and go there to Erg Chebbi. If you leave from Marrakech you have chance a see Todra Gorge or Dades, Ait BenHaddou and that's it.
Forget Erg Chigaga, it is far and you have not…

We travel because we need to. Because the distance and difference are the secret tonics to the creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.

The only place I pre-book, and then not more than a few days ahead, is Marrakech during peak season.

There's no shortage of hotels and when I'm touring I'm just looking for a bed in a box with clean sheets, hot shower and western loo.

Hey Benedikt,

Congrats on booking a trip to Egypt!

I'm afraid that there aren't really any foodie tours to book in Egypt in a similar style to what you can find in European cities like Rome or Paris. So your best option is just to go out there and explore on your own. I however fully disagree with other posters that Egypt (and Cairo in particular) is not a foodie destination as Egyptians love to eat and especially Cairo has a very vibrant food scene offering everything from cheap eats to fine…

I was there last week. It costs 55,000 per day to visit the park.

Guide fees quoted to me were 75,000 for a three hour hike/walk/trek in the park, 105,000 for up to six hours, 125,000 for up to eight hours.

There was no additional 80,000 "trek" fee quotes to me but maybe that's for people who trek and camp overnight?

The guide fees are paid at the office when you pay for your ticket so it's an official fee and I assume not negotiable.

I paid 75000 for a three hour trek and 125000 for a seven…

We usually rely on ATMs to get cash when we travel. Will that work in Morocco? We are from Canada so dealing with that banking nework. We will overnight in Tangier (arriving from Tarifa), then 3 nights in Fez and 3 nights in Marrakech.

Thanks for your guidance - R.

I think renting a car will be the best way to go first it is cheap and fast, from Rabat to Meknes is two hours. From Meknes to Fez it is an hour.

At that time of year I tend to keep to the warmer south. You don't say how you will travel on the non-train sections.

Unless you have some overwhelming reason to go to El Jadida I would skip it.

You need to work up your itinerary with travel times. Fez to Marrakech or visa versa will eat one complete day. Azrou to Ait Bougmez is a non-trivial journey, which is impossible to complete in one day, even if you have your own vehicle. You only have nine hours of daylight in late February and…
