Oh, yes it had snowed. There was no snow on the pass when I left Marrakech to go on to Skoura, etc. But about 3-4 days into the trek when we were experiencing rain, JT was getting snow. After the trek during the time I was in Agdz, a couple who had driven over the pass a few days earlier reported snow. They said that the driving was treacherous and there was quite a few cars having problems navigating. I'm not sure of the specifics - amount of snow, elevation etc. But there was snow in the…

Hey!

In upcoming days we are going in direction of Merzouga. We would like to sleep 1-2 nights in the desert.
Does anyone know any good chill place doing it? I mean there is a lot of options available on booking.com but it is hard to get impression about the place.

Thank you for help.

Safe travel!

Hi,

I'm looking for advice about a day's walking/trecking on Mount Zalagh from Fes in midSeptember. What's the terrain like? Are there clearly defined paths? Will we need hiking boots or will walking sandals suffice? Is there a published route map? Thanks for your help, Victoria

Dear all,

we are three guys planning to treck in the M'Goun region at the beginning of April. We got 4 days for trekking. What tour would you recommend?

Is it possible to climb the M'Goun in April?

Would you recommend a guide or can we find the way ourselves?

thanks a lot and best regards,

Paul

Erfoud

We are traveling with a group tour but in Erfoud the tour will be taking a camel ride into the dessert. We have done this in India and would like to opt out to explore Erfoud on our own. Any recommendations on what to do?

I posted last week about solo travel with camping gear or willing to stay in hotels as 2-3 day side trip from Marrakech. I am 56 and in excellent cycling shape (Will be with fold up bike) looking to rent car from Marrakech and explore high atlas or suggestions on earlier post to spend time in the area near Tafraoute. I do not like heat and prefer cool to cold nights. Is it possible to drive to Magdez that looks amazing for photography (My hobby) or should I hire a guide to get me there? I am…

Hi,

I need your feedback on my 10 day road trip. We are going to rent a car for all 10 days.

Agadir(arrive)—>Tamraght(1night)—>Essaouira(2nights)—>Marrakech(2nights)—>Ouarzazate(1night)—>Merzouga(1 night)—>Erg Chebbi(1 night)—>Zagora(1 night)—>Taroudant (1night)—>Agadir airport

Arriving on 22nd of April, leaving on 2nd of May.

What do you guys think? Is it doable? Any suggestions?
Maybe I need to skip Merzouga and Erg Chebbi and go to Zagora + Erg Cheggag instead?

Towns can be changed as…

Hi everyone, happy new year. I want to go on a trekking holiday this coming June and after seeing that at the moment Ryanair flights from Dublin to Marrakesh are 140 euro return a trekking holiday around Imlil is appealing to me. Having already been to Morocco twice before I know that June will be hot, hopefully not too extreme for trekking. Looking for any information on getting from Marrakesh to Imlil and getting some treks done, maybe even Jebel Toubkal all as cheap as possible. I will…

Who's to say how much you "should" enjoy a place?

More seriously, so far you've experienced only Casablanca and Tetouan. Neither of them strikes me as the most exciting places in the world. Maybe you will enjoy Chefchaouen more, but if not, move to a more interesting place: Fez, Meknes, Marrakesh.

What does the rest of your itinerary look like at this stage?

Thanks for the feedback.

We are from the USD, and our banks charge $5 per withdrawal plus 3%, so if we plan to use ATMs and can withdrawl 4,000 per day we will be cutting it close as we need about 4,000 dirhams per person for the tour on day 3, plus the ability to pay for any expenses in Marrakech before the tour. And the fees would be probably close to $50.

So I think it is probably easier to just bring USD and exchange a chunk on arrival at the airport and the rest during our stay. Seems…
