Ok thank you so much for this info...

I'll use for sure the train for move from one place to another probably Tangier, Fes, Meknes, Marrakesh.
A friend of mine told me to visit Merzouga and Agadir too, do you think it's doable in 3 weeks with a small kid?

thank you again

My gf and I are planning a 12-day trip to Morocco for Aug this year, and as part of that we want to do the route Marrakech - Merzouga - Fes. We're planning to rent a car and drive ourselves.

  1. Arrival in Marrakech (possible overnight stay at La maison Arabe, other suggestion welcomed)

  2. Marrakech

  3. Marrakech - get rental car - Sakoura (hotel overnight stay needed, open to your suggestions).

  4. Skoura - Merzouga (overnight stay at chez Youssef).

  5. Merzouga…

I will be traveling to Morocco in October. There are four of us and we have 18 days. We enjoy a wide range of activities, but love cultural items and medinas. We have been focusing on Marrakech, Fes, and day trips from each location. The question is whether a trip to the desert, Erg Chebbi, is important for a Morocco trip? Can we see the sand dunes elsewhere in Morocco which may not be as impressive, but would likely satisfy our curiosity. Thank you.

With ten clear days (i.e. not counting arrival and departure) you have the chance to see a lot of Morocco. I'm assuming from your words that you arrive and depart Marrakech airport. If you arrange a car in advance for airport pickup you could be out and away within a couple of hours. Lots of accommodation options in the Imlil area, for example, http://www.dartighoula.com/Our-Room-Dar-Tighoula.html

If you are confident at mountain treks you can climb Toubkal without assistance, there's some…

I've put together a tentative itinerary. The only "for sure" plans are Chefchaouen as my first stop. I read I can do some hiking there so will spend one day hiking & one day exploring the town. After that I'm not quite sure, I've pretty much decided I will do public transport all the way unless I can find someone along the way who wants to split the cost of a car for a few days. I don't want to spend a lot of time in the cities so I was thinking 1 night in Meknes and one night in Moulay Idriss…

Hi all, it be my 2nd time to Morocco and I wish to head down further south this time : tarfaya, laayoune and most probably dakhla.
In laayoune, would there be lots of local tour agencies just like in marrakech offering Sahara trips ? Of course I am looking at Sahara trips nearer the South, just referring to the abundance of agencies or lack of in laayoune. would not be considering the areas involving zagora or merzouga this time.
As a base from laayoune or nearby within the western Sahara which…

I would love help with my itinerary! My family (2 adults and 4 well traveled kids ages 18-24) will be traveling to Morocco end of Dec/beginning of January. Our goal is to avoid large cities and go to the most photogenic regions in a relaxed pace. My eldest is a professional photographer who gew up overseas so he’s hoping to catch some great shots. (see instagram @nateshepardphoto…they will be posted there after Jan.)

I’d love advice on places as well as for longer than the overnight tours…

Hello...I am headed to Morocco in late March and can't figure out the best way to distribute the 7/8ish days I have in country. I definitely want to see Fes, Marrakech and take my two kids (11 and 14) to the Sahara for an overnight in a village and one outside in the desert (unless anyone thinks that's a bad idea). Any thoughts on this itinerary? I'm unsure if I'm allowing too many or too few days in each location. We fly into Casablanca and out of Marrakesh. Also, any recos on good companies…

Ninjabambi, the rough plan of a route is Marrakesh - Casablanca - Rabat - Fes - Tanger

If you stay well clear of the desert you can't really expect to find a desert oasis near your route. You really have to cross the Atlas mountains to find desert.
