@john1984 - "I had a day in Fez before flying home. It, unfortunately, tarnished my impression of Morocco such that I'm never going back."
Please at least remember the good time you had trekking in the Atlas Mountains. Many people have told me that their positive experience in the mountains contrasts with their city experience. It would be a shame never to trek in Morocco again because of bad experiences in Fez.

'Alcool a bruler' is available from larger hardware stores in towns and cities. I've bought it in Taroudant and Marrakech.

Page here - http://www.farawayvisions.com/bikepacking-marrakech-to-agadir/ has pics of Moroccan Alcool a bruler you can copy to your phone to show people, that will help a lot when asking at hardware shops.

I never had any luck asking at pharmacies, they always seemed suspicious of my motives ..

For camping fuel generally in southern morocco, like most of Africa, the…

I am in Agardir heading hopefully tomorrow towards Quarzazate.
It is a 7-8 hour trip by bus so I want to stop overnight on the way.
Neither Supra or CTM seem to stop enroute.

How can I stay at towns along the way and end up in Quarzazate?

Rome2Rio claim there are no buses and Lonely Planet suggests it would be difficult getting a pick up for buses expressing to Quarzazate.

And which bus station is best-Agadir Gare Routiere or the next town Inzegane for getting to these towns?

I am not keen on…

Thanks again for the clarifications Khamlia.
A few questions more:
Where do I buy the bus tickets for the trip from Chefchaouen to Fes?
Where is best to exchange currency? Banks, PostOffices.. ..
I will be in Fez the 1st May (worker's day). Do you think it will be easy to find a day tour guide?
I seriously considering to go to Ashila as soon as I get to Tanger. Do you know if grandtaxis leave from Tanger train station and how much it cost to reach Ashila (30/40min)?

Thanks!

Seems like so many beautiful places to visit but having a hard time picking 4-5 spots to visit. Starting in Marrakech late October early November (2-3 days) but want to rent a car and venture off for a week of exploring scenic villages. I am into photography of outstanding views of mountainside towns, colors, and people. I travel with a fold up bike so will be doing late day or early morning rides where I can explore back roads and hills if that is possible? I love hill towns! So far from…

I'm not sure about the business hours of Supratours at their depot beside the railway station in Marrakesh, but I expect they will be similar to those at their small bus station in Essaouira, when the office closes after the last bus has departed, so you can get a good idea by looking up the ONCF website timetables, the last time I was there it closed quite early around 7 pm.

The Billeterie ( ticket office) hours at Casa Voyageurs railway station are also determined by…

Forget Chefchaouen, or Marrakech.
By train it take very long time, you need either go back to Fes from where by train to Marrakech. Or go to Tangier and take the train from there to Marrakech. You lose the whole day.
If you rent a car and go by the car you need 2 days for this route. Fastest route is around 700 km and you can never manage to do it on one day. Not talk to do a stop and see something, only the road.
Stay in Fes and do trips there around, or go to Marrakech and do trips around there.

We travel because we need to. Because the distance and difference are the secret tonics to the creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.

If you don't like the tourist trails then you should stay away from marrakesh , especially you are two women n, you 'll find too much hassle and harrasement in marrakesh .
I would suggest two Days in marrakesh then head to chefchaoun , taghazout , essaouira , assila ,rabat, and a Nice village near tizin tichka.
And you can have a night sleep at sahara desert with a travel agency
You'll feel way more relaxed in those cities.
marrakesh has…

Hi all,
I'll be travelling to Marrakech with a team in March, but I'm arriving a few days early. I arrive around 1230pm on a Sunday afternoon and have until late Wednesday afternoon before I have to regroup with the team. We will be in Marrakech until the following Sunday with plenty of time to see Marrakech, so I'm looking for a 2-3 day get away. I'm very interested in hiking, but won't have cold weather gear for Mt. Toubkal. Is it reasonable to still spend 2 days in the area, or somewhere else…

...... whether to book 1st. or 2nd., if you book 1st. class you'll be assigned a seat, booking 2nd. class you can board the train.!
Book as soon as you make-up your mind to use the train, you don't mention where your tour is to,.... if passing through Ouarzazate, a large town on a popular Desert route for instance, you can book your train at the Superatours bus office there, or at the Railway Station on reaching Marrakech.

Not mentioned is which Saturday you'll be there. The peak demand…
