Based on your recommendations (at least for the first part) it's either:

a) Marrakech to Imlil to Taroudant to Tafraout, to Taliouine (via Igherm), to Ouarzazate, to gorges, desert, Fez etc.
or
b) Marrakech to Imlil to Taroudant, to Taliouine, to Ouarzazate, to gorges, desert, Fez etc.

So what do you suggest?

As indicated I've never been before and unlikely to return so would like to make the most of it thanks...

I'm going to be traveling in March -- considering driving from Fes to Marrakesh by way of Merzouga/Dades Gorge/Skoura/Tiz-n-Tichka and am trying to get a handle on travel times. Google says that Fes to Erfoud is about 7 hrs. but a guidebook I have says it's 10 hrs, while elsewhere the same book recommends leaving Fes in the afternoon to stay overnight in Erfoud. Also Merzouga to Skoura (without stops) about 5 hrs, and Skoura to Marrakesh (again without stops) about 4:30. Does that sound about…

..... should read your post more carefully.... to focus on the four year old child, kids are just happy to be with a parent where ever they are. However, long tedious journeys on buses can be trying. The trips to the sand dunes in Merzouga from Marrakech or Fez take up-to 12.5 hours, and to Chefchouen from Fez 5+ hours by bus across a winding mountain road.
Marrakech for kids is a fun place, colourful and noisy, horses and carriages, parks and fountains, the circus Place Jemma el Fnaa…

...... dependant on reviewing the weather forecast on arrival, it could be dangerously high, most likely in August not worth doing, 40c+ are common then.

The road trip takes 12+ hours to reach the sand dunes, in high temperatures the drive is exhausting across narrow mountain roads, such trips are to be enjoyed not endured.

Near Marrakech the Agafay Desert (hamada desert), a dry stony, rocky and sandy with sparse scrub landscape, with more wildlife, camels are also found here, can be…

I touched on this issue in another post, and would like to expand on my original question a bit more.

I only have about 13 days to spend in Morocco. I am a bit conflicted about where to go. I know I want to see Fez and Marrakesh. I will be arriving via Casablanca and will leave at Marrakesh. Right now, I am thinking of Casablanca to Chefchauoen to Fez, then a 4 day desert trip to Marrakesh.

I really think I will want to see Chefchauoen, but it is a pain to get to via CTM bus, as the bus…

Camel trek

...... with a 5 year-old, Agafay is a good choice. Also in the Palmeraie area of Marrakech, camels are available.

Trips and 'under canvass' over-nights in Agafay can be arranged at most hotels, or in the many tour operators shops/offices you might see while walking through tourist areas of the Red City, so wait until you arrive and arrange then.

..... not mentioned is when you'll be in Morocco, always important to know.?

If your are just interested in 'city-breaks' type of holiday, you have chosen three imperial cities and the biggest city today, Fez, Marrakech and Rabat have a lot in common, Casablanca while its the biggest city today, from a tourist point-of-view the coastal strip, the old Medina, Colonial Avenues and Boulevards and the Hassan ll Mosque are the main sites/sights of interest...see this terrific clip by Tahir…

This is my first time to Casablanca, traveling alone (female) 4 days in August. I need advice on what to see (tours) and safe hotels to stay for a reasonable rate. I arrive in Casablanca in the evening and would like to go straight to Marakech, spend the weekend there and than leave Marakech after two nights and head back to Casablanca. On the way back I could Eljadida, Azemmour . I also want to see Rabat and Fez (there is an old university there that I would love to visit if possible.) Can…
