Thanks all for the Eid al Fitr warning. I must confess that I had mistakenly assumed 24 May as the date for 2019 (I had apparently looked at 2020 in the table...) and planned our trip from 3-10 June. We will change our plans as below, starting on 6 June.
a. For our group of 5, we will have to choose: a day to Bhalil and Sefrou (in schedule below) or a day to Moulay Idriss; what offers the most interesting contrast/addition, bearing in mind we'll have 2 1/2 days in Fez itself as well?
b. Any market…

Hi All,

The tour agent has just cancelled by tour ( stating that i was fussy) and I've already booked return flights from to Morocco for April hence pretty desperate to find a 7-10 days tour now
Worst bit was that this tour was recommended by a friend so I didn’t do much research initially.

Hence am hoping if you could recommend some trusty agencies for me to reach out too.
Looking at visiting the usual places in morocco. e.g Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Meknes ,Fes, Marrakech and Essaouira.

I am wondering whether it is safe enough for my mum and I to travel through Morocco on our own, or whether we need to book a tour?
I am seeing conflicting answers.
We plan on traveling to the following cities
Tangier
Chefchauoun
Fes
Marrakech.
If we do not get a guide, what do people suggest we do at night?
Any helpful tips would be appreciated!

Hi
So to clarify
1 day Casablanca
2 days Merzouga
2 days Tinghir with hiking
2 days Dades area w hiking
1 day drive to Marrakech
2 days Marrakech

But what you are saying a route like this should be done in 2 weeks at least, not 10 days?

Would you be so kind as to suggest places near Marrakech that would be less exhausting and yet nice experiences? (Hiking/nature/culture) And would it be easiest to rent a car (outside Marrakech of course) or use public transport?

Many thx for your help. Truly…

I was considering renting an SUV and drving solo around the jbel saghro area, sleeping in the back and eating in villages.. Can you see a lot this way, and is it safe?

I was considering at first just renting an economy ca in Marrakesh, driving through the area, and doing some trekking with a guide or a group and leaving the car. Afterwards, I would drop the car off in Fez. But it looks like a lot of the sites are is accessible by dirt roads and day hiking, so an SUV of my own seems good, but…

I’m looking for some travel advice. I’ll be in Morocco for part of October and November 2018. During the first part of the trip, I’ll be in Marrakech for 2 days, then I’ll travel to Skoura and spend the next 3 days between Skoura and Dades Gorge. After that I go to Keleaa M’Gouna to trek the Jebel Sahro region. At the end of the trek, I’ll be in Nekob. When I leave Nekob I’ll have 3 days before I need to be in Essaouira. I’m looking for ideas of how to spend those three days. I know part…

The end of January is still mid-winter in Morocco and not the time of year to be in the north Rif mountain region which will be cold, wet and dark at 5 pm, so this rules out Chefchaouen unless you are of masochistic temperament! ....Additionally, the torrential rainfall to be expected often causes road carriageway subsidence and transport delays. Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakesh and Fes are all connected by the very good railway network, Essaouira can only be reached by expensive Grand taxi or…

Hi all,

Heading to Morocco this week (feb.21st), first time.
Landing in Casablanca and heading directly south to Marrakesh.
I have a total of 25 days. I'm a photographer, so looking for the real things, the real Morocco, not necessarily the most touristy places.
Trying to plan ahead, I know I have to skip some places, don't want to rush things.

What would you recommend ? How many days in each cities ?
I was planning to go to Essaouira after Marrakesh, then Tafraoute, Ouarzazate, the South east to…
