Yes, you can set up your own tent. You can also rent sleeping bags and pads. You cannot just show up even if you are bringing your own tent. You will need to make reservations with the National Parks Office: NPO-Thailand. When we were there, 2017, I think, they were almost finished with a few fan bungalows with private bathrooms. I would think they are fully finished by now. Again, I must emphasize looking into this now as it was wildly popular when we were there and you want to go at the most…

The ATM's in Thailand charge $6 fee? Since when?

It is more likely your bank charging you the fees.

I am trying to source train tickets for Tuesday 1 January from Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok. I have tried 1,2 GoAsia with no luck. Am trying to see if there are any other means I get train tickets? Yes I do know it is the holiday period and things are booked up but really desperate.....any help in advance would be appreciated. Thanks Karen

As above.....which trains have a cargo carriage on this route please.

Wanting to travel with my bicycle as cargo.
The train I chose for BKK to CM did not have a cargo carriage and my bike had to go on the next train.....I will be tight for time on arrival in BKK and need my bike with me.

Thanks in advance if you can help me out.

Cheers.

A good idea! Great way to travel up north and imo a lot safer than the crazy overnight bus drivers! Pay a little extra for the first class cabins. As of last year they have introduced more modern carriages which have better beds, toilets and charging facilities ;).
