Hello!

I wonder if there is somewhere to unlock an iPhone 6 at Chiang Mai airport? I have tried to do this before but won't get my friend's old phone until just before I fly. I'm pretty sure it's locked. Will the place I buy a SIM from at the airport be able to do this too and how much do they charge?

If I can only get it done in Chiang Mai itself - does anyone know the best and cheapest place?

I will be flying into Chiang Mai airport in Nov and know from reading many blogs that I should not get currency changed from UK before I go as the rate will be very bad.

From anyones experience - should I take GBP in notes to change at the airport or use an ATM if there is one at there? I can either get a lot of money there or just enough to get from the airport to my Air Bnb and then sort money in the city once I'm there. I have a travel credit card which means I get no charge…

I have searched the forum but have not found anything definitive on whether there is a VIP or 1st class bus from CM to Sukhothai? We have done this trip before but got the train to Phit and the bus from there and overall it took a long, long time. We see there is a 2nd class bus which would probably be fine but does anyone know if there is a 1st class or VIP bus instead? I am terrible at getting travel sick so just want as much comfort and space as possible.

I am looking to get the night train #9 or #10 Fromm bangkok to Chiang Mai at the end of July. I have made an enquiry for advance tickets but have been informed these have sold out and I will need to get tickets on the day. Does anyone know the likelihood that tickets will be available on the day? It’s the last Sunday in July we are planning on going. I don’t want to miss the train and delay our plans for northern Thailand.

Wondering if someone might like to help me. My son lives in Chiang Mai and I haven't seen him for 18 months. I bought him a Christmas present and when I went to post it they wanted $45 for postage. With a week to kill in Thailand I was planning on flying up to Chiang Mai and renting a motorbike to travel round the area for a few days . But I hear times have changed and the police are now all over the place stopping farangs for tea money , if they dont have the International Driving Licence .
