Is Kraft Dinner and Poutine really all that Canada has to offer!? Mac and Cheese from a box may be a National Dish of Canada but it by no means represents the quality of its cuisine. Chips with cheese and grave is tasty but it is no culinary feat! I have had two weeks sampling the cuisines of Canada and experiencing the great outdoors. Would you change Canada's National Dish?

I booked for April a flight with them from Bariloche to Mendoza via Cordoba with 45 min. and plane change between and cross my fingers as this will be the last flight from Cordoba to Mendoza that day and I booked a hostel in Mendoza which I can't change by then...
The booking on their website was easy here in Germany.

I am a big fan of Albin_3 journals. Read them for ideas and tips.

I am currently in Dan Sai in Notrthern Thailand. Rented a good touring bike from Mong Cycle in Phrao (close to Chiang Mai): one month for 6000bahts, backrack Included. Hilly region tough. I did a two months squats…

During my internship I don't think I'll have a lot of free time to see other places besides maybe Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

If your weekends are free, you should easily have time to visit Battambang. Outside of the town, there are many beautiful old temples to see, especially the hill temples to the south of the town. Also you can go to Tonle Sap, a short distance from Siem Reap.

The rest of your question is difficult to answer, because there are endless different ways to spend a month in…

One thing that hasn't changed at Lake Maninjau is that there are no banks changing money (no money changer counter or shop in town either) the ATM's only work for local cards . If you run out of money you either have to change money or pay with dollars where you stay or you may have to go to Bukittingi. Tourists having problems with this regularly.
Giora , I saw an old thread where someone was saying Hello Guesthouse in Bukittingi was a nice place to stay but said you need ear plugs and you said…

You don't hike from Manokwari to Anggi, you ride! There is a road all the way, with several 4WDs providing public transport daily. Note that as per my latest, there was no official place to stay there. You must stay with locals, in basic conditions, unless that has changed. There are several birders' guesthouses in the Mokwam area closer to Manokwari, but that's a steep, heavily forested somewhat lower area.
From Nabire you could reach Enarotali by road but I haven't been there myself so can 't…

Hello,

I am a U.S. passport holder currently living in South Korea. In a couple months I will be leaving SK and heading to Southeast Asia for 4 months or so. I plan to visit Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand. I plan to spend about a month in Chiang Mai and was hoping it would be possible to make a trip up north and cross into Burma at Mae Sai. I know there has been a crackdown on people doing visa runs to extend their visas there, so I'm trying to figure out what I need.

For a number of years starting around 2008 or so, it was very tough to apply for a Chinese visa in Thailand, especially Bangkok--they would ask for all sorts of extraneous information like bank statements, employer permission, etc. which few travelers ever had with them. During this period, it was somewhat easier to go to the Consulates in Chiang Mai or Songkhla but it was still pretty painful. However, last year it started becoming much easier for non-residents to be granted tourist visas…

So it turns out I was stupid and organized the following SE Asia trip:
I arrived to Phuket from New Zealand (I'm a Hungarian citizen though) and did some island hopping for a few weeks. I'm in Bangkok at the moment, leaving for Cambodia and Vietnam tomorrow.

The plan was to come back from Hanoi to Chiang Mai and see the mountainous region for a week or so and then to head to Myanmar.

But I just realized that I only aplied for a single entry visa instead of a multiple one.

Can I still apply…

July isn't so much into the monsoon season that you can't have a good Cambodia trip. You'll just get thunderstorms and a period of heavy rain most afternoons. You'll get sunny weather too.

You can do 3 weeks in Cambodia if you want to venture a bit off the normal tourist route of Siem Reap - Battrambang -Phnom Pehn - Sihanoukeville - Koh Rong - Kampot. You could add on Krong Kampong Cham on the Mekong river, and also a place on Tonle Sap (the big lake south of Siem Reap).

Or if it interests…
