Yes, you also see that at the titles of the photos.

I think a stop in Kanchanaburi is well worth it if you have any interest in history or not. Seeing the war graves and museum, and then travelling overland to Daweii gives you some understanding of the building of the Burma railway, and if you are not aware, is a good education. It gives you something to think about on the journey. Delayed by road works, squashed minibus, no air con, you really can't complain once you have seen the graves of those who cleared jungle and dug their way to Burma.

The pictures of the lake and flooded temple in Sangklaburi took me back to my first trip to Thailand in 1987/8. It looks like a concrete block now, but then was still mostly covered in tiles, and looked as if it was old. The water was lower, and the boat went through the temple, and is one of my best peaceful moment memories of Thailand. There was one row of bungalows overlooking the lake, no other travellers, and felt very remote.
Nice photos. Thanks for that!
There is a lot to see there if you stay a few days -- there are two war cemeteries - go to the museum beside the main cemetery for a lot of information that is not available in the "popular" museums. It has set up the display at the Hell Fire Pass too. The heritage walk is worthwhile and a good way of meeting the locals. A bicycle is a good way of getting around.
