Dear fellow travellers,

I will arrive in Bangkok on October 27th and leave back from Bangkok on November 24. So I have a month. I came up with the the following itinerary trying to get the most out of my Thailand/Vietnam experience while being able to enjoy it and without feeling rushed.

I enjoy beautiful nature, interesting markets and people, fish markets, anything exotic, adventure, beautiful beaches with crystal clear water, places with a great vibe and atmosphere, exotic getaways, great…

You're flying from Cancun to Merida ? Why? If that is correct I would say there is most probably a bus from the airport to the main square (Cathedral)...print out a google map of Merida..the square is prominent. Taxis are quite reasonable in Merida. I remember going quite a long way for under 200 pesos....zocalo hostal is close to the main Cathedral...also faces the main square.

Don't agree with the last post at all!
Ngapali beach has recently undergone a lot of development changing from an upmarket beach resort to a destination catering for both upmarket, midrange and budget tourists.
Lot's of cheap guesthouses and even hostels are now available along the main road but with easy access to the beach. Road transport is still relatively uncomfortable but doable especially if you "don't mind a journey from hell" and the VIP bus to and from Yangon is actually quite…

Good morning :)

Now I've split the stay near Corcovado. 4 nights at Puri Mas and then 4 nights at Cabana Arao Macao Lodge in Drake and took a Guesthouse near Quepos the Blue Banyan Inn.
I've booked all accommodations at booking.com, but in January there's only a few hostels at Tortuguero. It seems to me that I'm a bit to early for booking. I've booked all accommodations with free cancelation, so I can check it in a few weeks again and maybe can change it.

Do you know when is the best time for…

My 2-cents: Stick with the Andaman side for better weather. Choose one destination besides Phuket from Koh Phi Phi, Ao Nang/Railay area of Krabi or Koh Lanta... OKay, maybe 2, if you really like sitting on a ferry. I just don't think you should travel every 2 days with that tight of a schedule and budget during the most crowded time period for that area. Remember that each time you change islands it will cut at least 1/2 a day from your already short time frame to get to your next destination…

There are countless hostels/guesthouses/hotels in Arakashan Rd Pahar Ganj, which is better than the Main Bazaar.
We occasionally stay there for a night to catch a train from NDLS (New Delhi Railway Station) and also the airport metro terminates there. A couple of months ago we found this newly opened hotel:

Nice, clean, quiet rooms and bathrooms, efficient, friendly staff, airport transfer offered. We paid about INR 2,000 for a double room, probably a bit more…

With 4 weeks it would be tough to do this properly. But if you rush, it is doable. As above, the boat to Luang Prabang departs from Huay Xai on the Laos border with Thailand. To do the boat trip, you'd fly to Chiang Rai, or Chiang Mai, Thailand, and go by bus to the border from there.

A complete north to south trip in Vietnam, seeing all the touristy places normally takes 3 weeks time. But you can do it in less time if you don't include places in the mountains like Sapa and Dalat, and skipping…

Fly Bangkok - Siem Reap and stay 3 days to see Ankor Wat, then Fly Siem Reap - Luang Prabang for another 3 days. Bus to Vientiane and train to Bangkok. Or fly.Over land travel is slow so if you're short on time it makes more sense to fly.
I crossed from Chiang Rai to Laos and wasn't in time to catch the slow boat so had to overnight there. There was a large group came from Chiang Mai the following day and the boat was delayed waiting for them. They were told that it was very difficult and slow to…

Two main options for camping: one, camp at a hostel/guesthouse/official campsite. You'll pay them a little bit of money, and they'll give you security and facilities like toilets and showers. Two, turn up in a village and ask the chief where you can pitch your tent. You can do this in most villages in Africa. Just be respectful. I have wild camped in the bush in Africa before, but generally feel more secure camping near a village. If you introduce yourself in the village, they'll assume your…

Hi,

Myself and a friend are arriving in Myanmar on December 25th. We are landing in Yangon, and will be staying there until New Year's day as we are awaiting the arrival of a third person, although we may like to take a 1-2 day trip to Bago in the meantime. This is our first trip to Myanmar, so I would like to know of any suggestions you may have regarding an itinerary. We plan on taking a flight out from Mandalay. We also plan on using the full 28 days that we are allotted, minus the two days…
