What hikes do you have in mind?
Some hikes/treks are done in organised groups for two reasons: either the area isn't safe for independent trekking, or the facilities are built and owned by a tour company (like it is on Ciudad Perdida trek).

LW:
> Another option is to take the Turibus to / from the pyramids. Yes, the bus also stops at either the Basilica or the Plaza de las Tres Culturas ... and that may turn-out to be a good Mexico City "sampler." I enjoy visiting the Basilica for a variety of reasons, and also the Plaza de las Tres Culturas archaeological site. With Turibus it would be an independently guided, on-your-own visit.

How does the Turibus option work? Do you get a set amount of time at Teotihuacan (like a tour but…

What are the best hostels for me to stay at as a solo female traveler where I can feel safe but also meet people?

I haven't stayed in too many hostels there lately - usually i'm camping. But in Calafate - I'd probably recommend America del Sur hostel. It was really good for meeting others. In Chalten - cruise through the normal websites. Most travellers down that way are friendly and sociable and not really the raucous at all.

I'm planning on staying 2 nights in El Calafate and 5 days…

..... to answer your question on public shared grand taxis. in so far I understand the situation.

Shared public taxis operate between transport hubs, i.e. the city of Marrakech has a few hubs. Asni is also a hub, abeit a rather small one. Passengers for Imlil need to arrive at Asni first to change car for Imlil, although a few taxis might if the numbers are favourable go from Marrakech via Asni to Imlil. Imlil is the end-of-the-line, a cul-de-sac rather than a hub.

The fare is…

As you want to end up in Bogota I would suggest places like San Agustin, Tierradentro, Tatacoa desert, Salento and maybe Manizales and/or the Laguna del Otun trek from Pereira.

Long, winding road across the mountains from Mae Dot to Umphang, about five hours drive in private vehicle, more on public transport.

Overnight to the waterfalls included several hours downriver rafting, great scenery. Then hiking across a hill to the campsite next to the Waterfall.
Next day hiking back to the river, few more hours rafting down the river. Then sunset view from a peak.

Back to Mae Sot on day four.

If it's done in three days I suspect they either cut on the rafting and drive…

Most people go to Lhasa to start a tour rather than just go there for a couple of days. Some people take 2-3 days just to get acclimatized.

I know, unfortunately I won't have enough time to take the usual one-two week tour of Tibet. I am mainly interested in seeing the several main palaces of Lhasa anyways. I will be coming off the EBC trek but on the Nepal side. Hopefully that will help with a smooth transition to the few nights I would have in Lhasa.

Seems to be about 250$ for the…
