Hello!
Our itinerary is in need of some well travelled help please!
My partner and I (early 30's) have 8 weeks to explore some parts of South America from early September this year. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of more time so looking to make the most of what we do have.
We are looking to do a mix of cities and outdoor exploring, not interested in partying or drinking. Planning to travel by bus and use overnight buses where practical but happy to look at some flights to manage our itinerary. Our budget is a little flexible - a little more than backpacker on a shoestring is ok.
We will fly into Lima and have our inca trail booked a week later. Then my partner wants to see Buenos Aires & Iguazu Falls and I would like to see Patagonia, particularly Puerto Natales and TDP for W trek. Not exactly close... so we have come up some rough itinerary ideas below. We would really appreciate any feedback as to how ambitious this will be, what could be cut out or improved on or if we really need to reconsider...
Peru ?2 weeks
Cusco including inca trail/MP
Arequipa + Colca Canyon
Travel through Bolivia to Argentina ?1-2weeks
Lake Titicaca
La Paz
Salar de Uyuni tour
Explore Salta and North West Argentina ?1-2weeks
Fly Salta to Iguazu
Iguazu falls x 1 night
Overnight bus to Buenos Aires
Explore Buenos Aires
Patagonia ?2 weeks
Fly Buenos Aires to El Calafate
El Chalten
Puerto Natales and TDP for W trek
Fly Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas to Santiago to depart
How early would this internal flights need to be book to secure a somewhat reasonable price?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
