Please note that now you need to include a scan of your passport when applying for an evisa in addition to the mug shot

This then auto fills some of the sections BUT carefully check as it may not have accurately read the data. My passport is valid for 6 months longer than the normal 10 years and I had to manually correct

Hi Everyone,

So I have a Lebanese passport and I understand it is on the restricted countries list making obtaining the pre-approved VOA letter more difficult and expensive.

Previously vietnamevisapro used to provide the letter for a higher price ($50) but I just emailed them and they no longer have the authority to do this.
my other options are all above $150, which is O.K. (the price comes with the shitty passport i understand) but I just do not want to spend that amount only to have it be a scam. does anyone recommend a more pricey VOA letter provider that are not necessarily scams, but also provide the letter for Lebanese passport holders ?
(https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html is requesting a scan of the front side of my credit card for example...
some others are requesting I book 4star hotels with them)

With regards to obtaining the visa from Vietnam embassy, I currently reside in Luxembourg and the closest embassy for me is in brussels, unfortunately I already have my passport with the thai embassy and it may take up to 4 weeks until I get back my passport + thai visa. Hence I prefer the VOA option for Vietnam.
really any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

After reading much about the the “exit tax scam” at the Mexico / Belize border near Chetumal over the last few days (much of which is at least a few years old), I thought I would post an update based on my experience at the border this morning. We took the 5am bus from Bacalar, through Chetumal and onto Belize City. We arrived at the Mexico border about 6am and I was prepared with my airline receipt (showing that I had paid the DNI tourist fee with my airline ticket) and a prepared statement about not paying their “exit tax scam.” We were lined up outside the immigration office and walked in one or two at a time to give up our FMM cards and get stamped out of the country. The guy at the desk took our cards, stamped them, then stamped our passports and said “thank you.” That was it, no request for money or an exit tax. Just a quick and painless process.

I don’t know if we got lucky (no one on our bus complained about being asked for an exit tax) or if the government has finally put a stop to the scam, but our experience was easy and painless. I hope yours is too!

#Global Work and Travel is a scam and will take your money! Please google CBC News on this company. They take your money and offer you nothing. Within twelve hours of giving them my credit card I asked them to cancel...they would not return $495.00. Kids have also been stranded once they reach their destination. BEWARE!!!

The question isn't where the visa was issued, but rather the nationality of the person's passport. You're right though: from tomorrow, visas for Filipino citizens are going to become temporarily invalid, at least as far as I'm aware. I've only found a Japanese language source for this, on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website:

https://www.mofa.go.jp/mofaj/ca/fna/page25_001963.html

Is your Filipino friend a resident of Japan? What kind of visa does he have? As far as I'm aware, the restrictions do not apply to people with resident's cards. If your friend lives in Japan and has a resident's card, I believe they will still be allowed to enter. If they don't have a resident's card, and only hold a visa in their passport, then I don't think they will be allowed to enter.

I haven't read anything about Japan complaining about India invalidating visas, and I've been abreast with the news in Japan lately. If it did occur, it wasn't a particularly big story here. It seems odd though, as many countries all over the world have been invalidating visas, and I haven't heard the Japanese getting upset about any of it. Japan have themselves invalidated visas and visa-free travel to the country for many nationals from around the world, and not just for Filipinos.

These days you need to be very careful before using an online agent. Scammers are everywhere, It is really hard to tell the difference. I never faced any such scams yet, maybe because I am cautious.

What happened is the clerk at the check baggage counter screwed up [what airline was it?] by not giving you the 2 INM - Mexican Immigration - FMM tourist cards back to you. They are not customs forms. The INM officials take pesos at the CDMX airport. Possibly you miscommunicated with him not knowing Spanish. $40 USD is the cost, so for 2 = $80 USD or $100 CND. At the gate they don't scan passports or FMM tourist cards. They collect the FMM tourist cards and hand them over to the IMN office in the airport. They will check the photo and name in passports if they have time at the gates. Seems to me nobody was scamming you. Nice of them to hold the plane for you. You fill out the FMM form with your data not the INM official. He would consider it 2 lost FMM tourist cards. He scans passports and stamps the form with the date, time and place and the card has the mode of transportation.

But what's the scam? In Asia you have the filipino card game scammers, who do this, and in Europe you get good looking girls who pretend to be tourists, invite you to go drink with them and take you to the restaurant they work for which will proceed to rip you off with a bill of thousands of euros for a few drinks.
So what's the SA version? Never heard of it.
