Hi,
In mid-December, I'm going with my partner to 17 days trip in Morocco.
We arrive in Ouarzazate airport, and we flying out from Tangier.

I would love to hear your opinion on this itinerary.
We would like to have a diverse trip (city, villages-better then big cities, nature) and we don't want to be in rush.

Day 1
--------
-Arrive at 15:25 to Ouarzazate
-Rent car
-Sleep: Aït Benhaddou (Kasbah la cigogne)

Day 2
--------
-Kasbah Tamdaght
-Aït Benhaddou
-Kasbah Taourirt
-Kasbah Amridil
-Skoura
-Sleep…

Nice location, Kasbah du Toubkal.

All the airlines I know carry child seats, buggies and so forth free-of-charge. Some rental places might have a car seat but it sounds like you need two plus a booster seat which might be a big ask.

You could get the train to either Fez or Marrakech, then pick up a car that you intend to drop off in Casablanca. One company I'm aware of (I don't normally rent in Morocco) is Europcar, see https://www.europcar.co.uk

Given your arrival time, I'd be inclined to…

Thank you for this! I read both of your topics and found them very interesting.

I'm working with a tour operator who has me arriving from Boumalne Dades to Merzouga on Day 3. Day 4 spend the day visit Khamlia Village to enjoy Gnawa music, or drive a Quad on the sand dunes. Suggest during the hottest hours between 12-4 to lunch and relax at the hotel in Merzouga. Finally sunset the camels to the sand dunes and over night at a campsite. Following day head to Nkob and finally the next day to…

...... flying into Marrakech, out of Fez but could be reversed or changed entirely!):

About your flights to /from Marrakech and /or Fez are unlikely to be direct from /to Atlanta.?

what convenient reasonable options have you to arrive in Morocco.?

Wow, it shows how subjective travel destinations are! I feel like most things I've read have been contradicted in one way or another. (I'm not saying that's a bad thing - it just means I am in for a little more research than I had originally planned! haha)

We're going to likely skip Essouira now - I still haven't sold my friend on skipping Chefchaouen though, but I might look into travel options and stay in Tetouan the first night as suggested, and then head to Fes with a 2-3 hour stop in…

I prefer Fes over Marakesh too, but its perosnal preference based on interest, time and budget.

Marakech is more modern, liberal and developed, and Fes is more authentic, old school and traditional.

I would get out of Casablanca, far better and nicer places to visit with 7 days. Compared to Marakech and Fez, or Rabat/Meknes, Casablanca is a dump. It is a gritty, dirty, ugly, congested, not very inviting city.

The trains are great, and locals very nice.

...... assuming you depart Morocco from Marrakech..... when you finish with Toudra Gorge and Ouarzazate (assuming you are coming from Merzouga).... make your way along the N10 to Taroudannt and Agadir.
From Agadir travel north to Essaouira passing some interesting seaside villages on the Atlantic.
If you decide to stay a day or two in Agadir, these villages can be easily reached using the city-bus service....

Marrakech is very easy to get to from Casablanca, about 2 1/2 hours by road. Or just leave out Casablanca altogether and fly directly into Marrakech. And you can fly cheaply and quickly from Marrakech to Fez on Air Arabia. Tetouan is only 1 1/2 hours' drive north of Chefchaouen and just over an hour from Tangier.

Better to stay "South" (but not to go to Merzouga)
Skip Casa.
You can use Marrakech as hub or place to stay.

We are thinking about a mult-icity trip to Morocco next April. WE have found a few 3 or 4 day trips from Marrakesh which go to the Atlas Mountains, gorges and overnight in desert. Any suggestions as to tours? We do not want a guided tour for the whole country but plan on going to each city for a few days and perhaps have day excursions. Thanks.
