Sasha will be 10 months old mid-April and his parents, experienced cyclists, would like to pursue their passion. We are looking for a destination for a 4 weeks trip (mid-April to mid-May). He will be riding in his full suspension Chariot behind daddy's bicycle. He is already accustomed to -and needs- his daily ride for his siestas (actually on skis) and we are hopeful he will enjoy a cycling trip. Ideally we are looking for a trip with rather short distances between cities or villages-we are…
Hello all. I'm trying to work out a route through central Asia going from east to west this summer, which ties in with the logistics of applying and picking up visas. My Geography is still a little vague, but I have some general questions I'd appreciate any feed back on. I basically want to know to what extent I need to use the sevices of 'tour' company to help with my visa applications and how I can collect these visas.
I'm planning on going from Pakistan - China - Krygyzstan - Tajikistan -…
I'm traveling around the Philippines by bike. I haven't come across any comments about the islands Guimaras & Sequijor. Are they worth the effort to visit & how are the ferry connections? I'm not into diving.
I was surprised that I'm getting charged on the ferries for my bike, in other countries you don't get charged for a bike.

Yes I know there's stacks of info' available on the site but I can't find anything to explain what is a Rixen and Kaul Klickfix. This type of fixing appears on the Altura 50 dryline (amongst others)
Does it do the job?
Also does anyone know what they weigh?
I'm in two minds between the Carradice Overlanders at 1400g a pair, 48ltr capacity and the Altura 50's, the weight of which I can't find on any website.
Not that I'm excessively weight conscious but theres quite a difference between 1400g…
So while I was cleaning my mtn. bike the other day (I'm carfree and use it for around town), I noticed the front wheel was spinning out of balance badly. I don't like most of the shops I've been in here, so I took it to a new place - a guy who sells used bikes. He took the wheel off the bike, stuck it on the truing stand and in about 15 minutes had trued both wheels without removing the tubes or tires! I couldn't believe it. My question is, I'm sure the tire is better, but how long will this…
Can anyone tell me when the Manali-Leh road is cycleable - i.e. what's the earliest date it would be possible?
I'm looking for an ultralightweight backpack, about 35l or so that'll take everything from my two front panniers (and preferably the panniers as well). Minimal buckles and bells and whistles, etc. so that it packs down small and weighs next to nothing. Looking for something cheap.
(I'm not interested in the Ortleib backpack converter thingy)

Just trying to figure out how many km this would be.
I want to ride from my country (the Netherlands) through France into spain to Santiago de Compostella. From there along the Portugese coast into Andalucia and finish in Gibraltar.
I figured out the appr. distance from my home to Santiago: 2600 km.
But how far from Santiago to Gibraltar?
Hi!!!
I'm a cyclist who is doing Andorra-Beijing by bycicle trying to no take planes at all,...
I have a few questions that looking at this forum are not resolved for me,...
Right now I'm in Delhi, with the idea of go to nepal and from there go to china.
I know that in tibet you have to take care about the checkpoints,... but it's possible pas from nepal to tibet alone (even if it's ilegal)?
I thought that your chinese visa have to be stamped for enter in china, and you are entering in full tibet…
