Hi,
i've got about a 5 week block this summer, -my last proper hol- and i want to do a wicked mountain biking trip, ideally using a base with bouldering and mountain biking. I'm struggling for inspiration, as i've got limited cash, and don't want a massive carbon footprint...
It will be in the summer, and i live in the UK....so somewhere fairly cool/high would be ideal...any ideas, good hut-trails, etc. cheers for any input!

I'm curious to know if anyone has a strong opinion on whether it's a better ride on the Dalton or Dempster Highway in the Great White North? I have a feeling there might be more traffic on the Dalton because of Prudhoe Bay...Am I mistaken? The minor advantage I guess is that you can actually dip your bike tire in the arctic ocean there which isn't the case in Inuvik. Anyway, I'd like to get opinions from people who've actually been there... Anyone crazy enough to have done both?
I apologize if this information has already been mentioned here before, but I wasn't able to find it while searching...
I'm currently on a 6 week bike tour around the South Island in New Zealand, and I'm planning to try to sell my bike and/or trailer at the end of the trip. In the US I would use Craigslist, but I haven't been able to find a popular forum in New Zealand buying/selling bikes. I was hoping that someone might know of a resource.
Alternatively, if anyone on this forum has any interest…
A quick rant:
My girlfriend & I are on one of the last legs of our bike ride from Bangkok to Singapore, and have run into something that we've not had before: an unbearably snobby hotel.
Basically every three nights or so, my girlfriend and I treat ourselves to a 'posh' spot to spend the evening (i.e. read 'mid-range' by LP standards). And at the Malaysian Cameron Highlands decided to book in advance and treat ourselves to 'Bala's Holiday Chalet' [as seen in the blessed LP] just outside Tanah…
Hi everyone,
I'm living in Brisbane Australia at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or recommendations on buying a new touring bike in Australia (brands, locations). I'm leaving for Copenhagen in June to ride to Berlin>Amsterdam>Switzerland>Paris>London. I have heard a lot about the Koga-Miyata World Travellers, I know they are expensive, but does anyone know how to acquire one in Australia? I have had a brief ride on this machine, and I was impressed.
If not, can anyone…
Hello bikers,
I already did 14 countries around the world with bike. Scandinavia, Europa, China, Tibet, Nepal, Peru, Bolivia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia …
This April, Mai I am planning to go in Central America. I am planning to visit Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. No special plans yet. I will just take the ticket, bike, music and the equipment.
Has anybody cycled recently there.
Can you give me some short impressions about cycling in this part of the world.
Thanks in advice…

I will be traveling south through Vietnam and looking to fly out from Ho Chi Minh City. I would be grateful for any advice people could provide on where card board boxes for bicycle transport can be picked up in the city for onward travel. Thanks in advance
Hi all,
I'm planning a cycle trip around Europe this summer. Can anyone recommend any good websites that can help me prepare myself and my bike (stories of other long distance cyclists).
Also looking for cycle trails in Southern France, Northern Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and Germany.
Thanks!
I'm considering doing the tour d'afrique silk route trip that starts in August.
Anyone else thinking about it?
I've never done much cycling before but think the physical challenge will be great.
