Has anyone crossed over the France-Spain border towards the Eastern end of the Pyrenees?
I'm looking for a route that doesn't go on the large N roads but that isn't an insane climb. Basically a pleasant route that hasn't got lorries thundering past.
I've done a bit of research and think maybe just west of la Jonquera, via Coustouges (that's the D3 in France and the GI503 in Spain).
Does anyone have a way they would recommend? any advice would be very appreciated.
Cheers!
I've just got back from another shortish trip but it's been a bit of an interesting departure for me. I've been feeling guilty about all the flights I keep taking and my very battered tourer is with Roberts at the moment being sorted out, so I decided to go on a different sort of tour (for me).
Firstly the bike. No tourer, so I roadified my cyclocross bike which is a fancy titanium affair with some elderly Mavic Heliums. I put some well worn Conti GP4000s, some mudguards (fenders) and a carier…

Hi,
I will go on a 2 years ride across Africa with my girlfriend (probably Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenia, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa) and am wondering which digital camera to take with me. Compact, Bridge or DSLR?
The advantage of the DSLR over the others is - at least to me - only with them I can really "play" with depth of field (focussing on small details and blurring the background for example or the other way round). I would only take one lense with me (in…
Anyone ever use one of those alarmed lock? i.e. those that will beep loudly when someone tries to steal the bike. I'm thinking of buying one and use in the trip but am afraid that they will be too sensitive and will beep even when someone is not stealing, but just accidentally moved the bike a bit.
Hello TTers,
My partner and I are travelling to SA in July for a 5-6 month trip around. We're currently talking about buying bikes and riding some of the legs. We're not cyclists and will be going steady-steady with the option of putting the bikes on the back of a passing truck or bus if the road gets too steep, but we're keen to give it a go anyway and see how we go.
My question is to any cyclists out there that have bought bikes in either Argentina or Brazil. Did you find good bikes…
Can someone fill me in on what the law is?
I realise that if you get off your bike and push your bike across the pedestrian crossing then you are classified as a pedestrian but if you ride across a pedestrian crossing are you technically a pedestrian? Is the driver liable if he/she runs you over?”
I always approach pedestrian crossing cautiously just in case the driver doesn’t stop but I would like to know what the law states here.
