I am planning a world cycle and need to do about 1200 miles in SE Asia. I am needing to find the fastest route and so flying out of Calcutta would I find faster roads, better weather in October/November, with better infrastructure in Thailand and then south to Malasia or flying into Sumatra and continuing south down Indonesia. If anyone has cycled both these areas, any pros and cons would be great plus hints on airlines, visas etc.

Thank you.

Hey all!

Iam right now in windhoek. I gonna make may way down to Capetown before I continue my trip in Southamerica. I just wondering where I can find a good bikeshop in Capetown? And if it easy to find the schwalbe Marathon XR Evo tires somewhere in town? I wood be happy if someone can give me a webaddress to a shop so I can email them and find out if they stock these tires or not. (so they can order it for me if not)

thanks!

Men and women’s leather biker jackets are waxed with crocodile, alligator or the snake skin. Along with waxing company logos, various tattoos are also embossed on the leather jackets. Single and double-breasted leather biker’s jackets are readily available in market. Men’s leather biker jacket and women’s leather biker jackets can be purchased either from shops or through websites. The owner offers heavy discount for men and women’s leather biker jackets as they are purchased in bulk.

Hey

Has anyone had any recent experience with travelling on trains in china with a bicycle? i dont mean inner city but long distance train trips, ie: Hong Kong to Urumqi.

And is it possible to buy anti-biotics over the counter in china? and i'm guessing they will be much cheaper than in most western countries. is my guessing right or wrong?

Thanks to anyone who has some advice or info.

Hi guys,

I am planning a long (year plus) cycle trip late 2008/2009, this will either be from London to Singapore or perhaps in South America.

I would like your thoughts on doing this alone. Is it practical, or is it too risky with regards to illness/injury.

I like traveling alone and meeting people on the way, is it easy to meet people on the road when doing a cycle tour?

Thanks,
Ben

I will be heading over to France for a quick post graduation adventure. I am going to be in France from May 30th to June 9th.

I would love to travel through France and spend some time; biking across the country or cross country running, wine tasting, touring towns etc..

#1 Do people do this in France (Bicycling Tour)?

#2 Would anyone be interested in joining?

#3 How long would it take to get from Paris to the Mediterranean (Any ideal Paths?)

I am considering a possible ride in Australia shortly. I've been there a number of years ago and I remember having lot of problems with punctures for the first 300 km out of Darwin. Thinking back now, they may have been caused by heat. Had anyone experienced this sort of problem and how to deal with it? I am thinking of taking a road bike with 25 mm tyres.

I am going to film an upcoming cycle tour and have decided that a small laptop to hold the video, photos and written diary is needed. I have heard this being done but have no experience. Does anyone have any experience of touring with a laptop? Which laptops are the smallest, lightest and most robust? Which solar panels, if any are good? The ideal is a 8-9' screen, less than 1kg, 6+ hours battery and as much memory as possible.

Thanks for any input

Hallo,
this August I'm cycling in Laos and I'd like to get some news about the condition of the road from Huay Xay to Luang Nam Tha, as I think that works to pave it are proceeding, but I don't know which part is ready and passable by byke.
Another question: is there any accomodation, more about at 70 -80 km, from Huay Xay?
Thanks a lot (I've also posted it on the Laos Branch).
