Hi guys, I’m planning a semi roundtrip in the Indian Himalayas for July-August this year. The general idea is to start out in Delhi, through Himachal Pradesh onwards to Kashmir(Srinagar), and then from here to Kargil and Leh. From here most likely by bus to Manali to meet up with a friend and then cycle back to Leh. There seem to be loads of info on the Manali-Leh part but not an awful lot on getting from Delhi Srinagar/Kargil, or maybe I was just lazy searching for it.
I realise it is not the…

It's 20 days 'til the date I've told everyone I know (and plenty I don't) that I'm going to leave on to cycle round the world - is this the part where the nerves are meant to kick in? I guess it would be weird if not, since the furthest end-to-end distance I've ever cycled was 140 miles, and I've never been outside the UK on a bike, or travelled to any country further East than Austria.

Right now, I have occasional bouts of incredible excitement - for the experience promises to be nothing if…

Does cycling have a patron saint?

I just heard that, somewhere on the Giro route, there's a chapel dedicated to cyclists...but is there a saint for cyclists, too?

Just curious.

It may leave many of you unmoved to learn that my girlfriend of three years has just finished her final exams with flying colours. In honour of this she is being brought by me for two weeks cycling around catalunya, starting from girona. Mostly in a tent - lucky her. By the way, and for reasons it would be indiscrete of me to disclose, this may be our last holiday together.......

What I am unable to find from internet fumbling is where we should take in on the trip. Think please about: pretty…

Hi everybody,
next september I wanna ride Lhasa-Kathmandu. The problem is that now, after the EBC events, there are some rumors about problems with the Tibet Travel Permit (TTB). There's a lot of confusion about and I can't understand if now (in Chengdu for example) they can issue TTB to individuals and if the Shigatse PSB can issue the Aliens' Travel Permit (ATP). Is really impossible now going out of Lhasa without a chinese guide? It's possible or not riding through the Friendship Highway…
