Hi guys.
Anyone out there travelled with a bike from Estonia to St Petersburg? I was originally hoping to take a train but I've heard it's been cancelled (frosty international relations ruining my plans!). Can I cross the border on bike? How is it riding to St Petes?
PS I'm having fun on my little ride from UK to Estonia, resting in Poland for a while.
Thankyou!!
Sal

Hi,
Have you ever used the bivi tent? It is much lighter and smaller when packed compare to any tent, but is it warm enough? If it rains at night, can the bivi tent really keeps you dry? Will the noise of the rain keep you awake? If it is really heavy rain, will the rain be blown to your face from the "breathing window"? The description of products from the online shops will, of course, states that they are good enough. However, I'd like to hear from some real users.
Appreciate your…
Interesting approach here to making a no-expense spared, 'ultimate' expedition touring bike. Look at the 'Tefnut' prototype bike in this website for a new bike company.
But I notice they forgot the racks!
I'm planning a 2-3 week bike tour in June and July of 2008. I'd appreciate any input to help me decide between Slovenia and Slovakia.
cycling around the world. i am from the usa.
just online chatted with folks at keys2persia.com which is an agency that can arrange for visas for iran. they say i cannot travel independently through iran.
however, they say i can get a cyclist tour guide to ride with me. the cost is astronomical.
anyone know about "arranging" for a guide and making it all look official....but then once the border is crossed just taking off and riding and going solo?

I'm right now in Hua Sai on the Thai Gulf Coast, 100 km north of Songkhla, my planned destination for tomorrow.
I'm cycling and are planning to keep going south/southeast along the coast towards the Malaysian border and Khota Bharu.
Having scanned the TT for recent info on the safety situation in the Southern region, I'm getting slightly worried. The normally excellent Travelfish.org writes "As far as security is concerned, the bulk of security incidents have taken place outside the provincial…
Just wondering if anyone has cycled Afghanistan, Iran and Syria recently. Any hassles obtaining visas?? Keen to know if there are any tricks as to getting the visa whilst touring on a bike in these countries, dummy intineraries, etc. Also is the central route through Afg. OK or is Mazar-i-Sharif better??? Thanks for your time,
Kian
Does anyone know someone in Hanoi City that could straighten a buckled rim?
Cheers Glen
Hi, I'm joining a Intrepid tour of Vietnam in Nov and need a bike. I see from other posts that picking one up in Hanoi is very difficult and not worth it as they fall apart - is this correct and does anyone know of bike shops in the city.
I will be flying in from Hong Kong so would it be worth buying one there - if so does anyone have a recommendation for a shop and the type of bike to get (also the cost) so I could sell it on in Ho Chi Minh City after the tour? Is it easy taking a bike on a…
