Hi all!
Me and my Girlfriend want to cycle around Crete for 2 weeks starting beginning of May. I haven't done to much research yet on routes and places to visit, and i thought here is a good place to start :)
of course we will arrive at Heraklion. any suggestions as for nice and quite roads to take, tips on avoiding busy places and roads, nice places to stay etc. are very welcomed. We will have a tent, and bicycles that can handle gentle dirt roads but overall we would like it to be road…
Okay, so a bit of a vague post but if you were in the UK and you wanted to cycle around the world, when would you leave? I’m guessing at the moment that it’s the bit between Turkey and China, The Stans, that you have to be careful of. So when are they out of the question, when is it too hot and too cold. I’m in the very early stages of putting this together and hoping to get a year’s sabbatical from work, so trying to work out when to ask for. Tricky huh…
What's the easiest way to entering singapore from malaysia, is cycling doable or too busy?
What are the options.
I think we have to go to Johor Bahru for my partner to get a Singapore visa
Dear forum
I am considering riding Mae Hong Son to Mae Sot, which is approx 400km and I understand quite hilly. It will be wet season.
I propose to rent a Trek 3700 in Chiang Mai from Silk Road Tours, hopefully with road tyres, and use my own rack and panniers with about 8kg of gear.
I am not a particularly strong rider, but OK.
Is 50km/day a reasonable expectation for this trip?
Thanks in advance
YoS
I know most people do this crossing by boat, but has anyone done it by road? On the map it looks pretty straightforward, up the Vietnamese TL952 to border at Vinh Xuong, then the Cambodian 101 to Neak Loeang.
Does anyone have any info on state of the roads and any other possible diifficulties. It looks from google earth as if the road turns to dirt on the Cambodian side. Also, is the border even open to land crossings?
I would like to cycle it in a few days time.
NB I took the boat a couple…
