I just got back from riding around Vietnam and Cambodia. I used a combination of the Lonely Planet Cycling guide (a few major errors but not too bad) and www.mrpumpy.net. Mr Pumpy had some great information but it is all pretty out of date now. The roads are generally good in the Mekong Delta area. I kept a blog and should have a post with more cycling specific details up within a few days. You can find it at www.bikerdiane.blogspot.com. At the bottom of each post is some detail for cyclists but I will amalgamate it all shortly.

Most of the Lonely Planet books are out of date and the area is growing so quickly it would be hard to keep up with it. Seems like a nice place to ride although personally I much preferred Cambodia for cycling. I stuck only to the southern part of Vietnam but it seems like the best scenery is in the central highlands or the north, particularly if you crave mountains.
