I'm in Tunis for business in mid-July and have a long weekend free. Would like to bring my bicycle and head out for a few days. Any good routes to take? I know it will be hot...any votes for whether it will be just too hot to enjoy cycling?

I was there last january so I can't tell you much about summer temperatures.
I'd suggest going to the mountains in the north-west - should be cooler up there. Maybe take the train to Beja and ride up to Ain Draham etc. Taking a bike on Tunisan trains is easy, especially if you speak French.
I wouldn't recommend riding out of Tunis - lots of traffic and big roads.
