I will be in South Africa in the next month or so with a bike for sale.
It was new when I left the UK 18 months ago and is still in excellent condition, just a few cosmetic marks. It has been regularly serviced / oil changed by me on route.
It needs new tyres, but little else. (26 inch x 2.00 Schwalbe Extreme (rear) & Supreme (Front) at the moment.)
The make is Santos (Dutch), gears are Rohloff, rims are carbide, front hub & bottom bracket Chris King, saddle Brooks B17, racks Tubus. This is a serious bit of kit, designed for touring.
Included would be two front, two rear panniers and a bar bag, and dry bag, all Ortlieb.
Also numerous spares, oil for Rohloff and spares for same, tools.
Also included is a Terra Nova Laser tent, inflatable ground mat and cooking pans.
Anyone contemplating the northward journey won't do better than this, it is pretty much all you would need.
For sale altogether for $2500.00 US (1600 sterling). Sounds a lot, but it is a bargain! All up, around $5000 plus new.
Contact me if interested.

It is a good bit of gear but may want to try on Ebay or some of the cycling Forums.

The Thorn site often has other quality bikes for sale especially when with a Rohloff.

This may be good for any Australians going to SA for a holiday and pick up a good bike in the process

And of course cgoab

Good luck

I think the OP should mention the frame size, or at least how tall he/she is. The only Santos bike I have been close to was built to measure for a woman. Seemed to be a fine bike.
