Hi everyone

That's a really amazing experience to ride on the world's dangerous road in Bolivia

have a look there : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2T24f0lN1c

It's really cheap, around 15€ for the whole day, bikes, transport, food. It's worth it !

Cheers

Maybe its only dangerous to the dummies that get close to the edge and skid........ like the guy on the video,
Oh, sorry was that you?

I'd be a lot more impressed to have seen a person go down the hill fully loaded with panniers, not brovado. Even more impressive would be to have actually cycled up the hill.

Looks just like a cheap thrill to me

Going to La Paz tomorrow, and considering the Death Road for Wednesday.

However, totally astonished it costs up to 750 Bs for what appears to amount to half a day's bike rental and some transport, in a country where 150 Bs will buy you a night's private accom.

Curious how they maintain such high prices? Is it essentially a cartel?

Now I know the surroundings will be spectacular, but the tour companies don't own that do they?

Isn't worth it? Can we get decent bikes and transport far more cheaply (as you could even in the world's richest countries)?

Thanks

Marcos

As usual its all about supply and demand.

If the well healed tourists (and there are stacks of them) are willing and dumb enough, they'll pay.
