Hi Simon -- post to and even within Australia is pretty horrifically expensive. I haven't looked at post out of Australia to Europe but I imagine it is pretty steep as well.
Hum. I just looked it up. It's around $40 - 50/kg to the UK- so not really cheap.

You could check 'click and send' , an on-line system run by AP. I just did a test for you on 10kg from Melb 3056 to Glasgow G2 of a package 30cmx30cmx40cm and it was $234-246 depending on tracking and insurance.
I meant the old surface mail which used to be really cheap. Looking at current prices, it is cheaper than the express (air) mail but still quite expensive.
Singapore will be fine.
