I'm from Oz and I'm due to start the first leg of my round-the-world bike tour. I leave for Copenhagen 4th July. Sorry I don not have any info as I am taking it day-to-day, but you should try www.bikeforums.net touring section. Lots of great info there!

Hi Sandra:

Any thoughts on where you're going in Spain? The weather here has been unusually wet this year, but luckily, the summer's not starting off quite as hot as it has been in recent years. Drop me a line if you'd like any information about bike touring in Spain.

Its OK to ride the Camino path but you need a MTB or similar to do so, a thin wheeled road bike would not be good. You need to go at a slow pace as there are plenty of walkers about and if anyone has right of way they do.

It is easy to ride the roads close by the camino and in most place there is a quiet alternative.

The north-west coast is the best part of scotland, but be prepared for wind, rain and vicious midges. The scenery is amazing though so it's well worth it. I particularly enjoyed the applecross peninsula.

Glasgow is a surprisingly good place to start - you can follow the sustrans route north through the city to Loch Lomond and it makes excellent riding at least as far as Blair Atholl. The OS 1:250,000 northern scotland map is pretty good for planning.
