I bought a ticket some time ago from Bangkok to Istanbul I have my bike with me and I was thinking of sending my camping gear from London to meet me in Alexandroupolis before continuing Westward.(too expensive to send to Turkey)
Are there any route suggestions or any experiences of this route ?Istanbul-Alexandroupolis.

We once rode into Greece from Istanbul. As I recall there were not many choices. The route was near to Mamara at first then climbed a bit inland and then swept SW to Alexandroupolis. There was a huge 4-lane motorway on the Greek side of the border with no traffic on it. Coming out of Istanbul was intense but we left at 6am and beat the traffic.
