Anyone heard of St-Octave de l'avenir in Gaspe? The LP guide says it's full of mountain bikers, but a web search finds nothing but images of young rednecks cadets training in the bush... Anyone been there? The Chic-Chocs mountains seem great but are there any good trails there?

The only thing I know about St-Octave-de-l'avenir is that it hosts a two-day-folkloric-music event every summer, attended mainly (only) by elderly people. The village was closed decades ago, so the rest of the time you are in the middle of nowhere. These days, the Gaspesie region mainly lives off nature tourisme. So it's pretty safe to bet that there are mountain bike trails in the Chic-Chocs (but I can't promise, I've never been there).
