In September my girlfriend and I are travelling down through Europe to Istanbul by bike camping along the way. We will be flying back from Istanbul in November to work the winter back in Britain, returning in the following March to pick up the tour again. Any ideas on where we can store the bikes and gear over this four month period? Thought about contacting local cycle clubs and shops and even warm showers. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks

You could try getting in touch with Bisiklet Gezgini (http://www.bisikletgezgini.com/), on the eastern side of the Bosphorous to see if they have some space somewhere (not in there bikeshop but perhaps elsewhere). Perhaps if you needed to have a service you could give them they're work and then they'd store them for you. They're very nice and helpful and the epicentre of the touring scene in Istanbul now I think so perhaps they could put a notice up online requesting for one of their following to help you out. Alternatively plenty of warmshowers folks (we had a great stay there) but the trick will be finding someone with extra space for your bikes and gear. But you will find someone.
